There was a writer for Time magazine who came to Cal and testified about this, but the legislator shot it down. It had the state running the entire program. I want a way for the insurance companies to run it, but gotta get the money from the pump to them.

Turned out we would all pay less, because everyone buying gas in Cal would be contributing, illegals, tourists, etc.

?I miss the good old days when we could tar and feather politicians.

Personally, I want dueling to be legalized again. We could call these wimps out on a regular basis!

My policy on the environment is I like it. LOL.

The nuke plants are also environmental for my money. Heard a woman on the radio yesterday talking about nukes and she used to be a green fiend.

I'm all for parks, clean water, air, and recycling. I just want things to make sense, be practical, work, and not drive every other business away.

I like the incentive approach. If you can do this by this date, we'll provide you an award. I think some great things will need a boost. I don't see how private enterprise star-ups can compete with the car companies, oil and such wihout help. I'm open to arguments on a case by case budget.

I like Bill Wattenberg on energy and the environment. I'd use him in a position of power or top advisor. (The smartest guy you can talk to for free).

I like the NASA research on solar.

I would add, that on Dennis Prager yesterday a strong case was made against wind farms being green.

She was a big-time Romney contributor and supporter. Who knows how conservative she is, but she did turn an internet start-up into a global giant. No one can take that away from her. I think she knows something about creating jobs. With regard to eBay, it's not just the people employed by eBay, but the millions of eBay sellers who are earning a living on eBay. This is the kind of grass roots entrepreneurism that should be encouraged by all conservatives. How many stay at home moms have been able to be with their kids because eBay has enabled them to supplement the family income with their sales? But I fully expect social conservatives to reject her because she's not pure enough. Too bad.

So Californians will sell toast that looks like Jesus, and no telephones will exist in government.

Could be interesting.

And don't we need a political party?

LOL.

It is so frustrating that all the Republican candidates adopt the Dem platform and ignore the Rep platform.
Too bad they didn't choose another party.

If the tax increases pass, the republican party will be useless in Cal.

I am not a Californian, however; Why is she already the “likely GOP Candidate”?..Did you all ‘annoint’ her, or is she just another RINO McCain?

Ebay is not exactly the perfect story, although it may be right in line with the way California manages its finances. Have ya ever looked at their financial statements? Revenues doubled and net income declined by 70%. So, increase taxes and increase spending more. It’s the California way! /s

Yup, too bad.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., center,
flanked by adviser Meg Whitman, left, and former Massachusetts Gov.
Mitt Romney, speaks at an economic roundtable, Wednesday,
Sept. 24, 2008, in New York

I think they mean she is likely to run in the primary, not that she is likely to win and be the candidate in the general election.

She hasn’t filed paperwork to run in the primary — only opened an “exploratory” committee.

I’ll say that a certain wing of the party is useless — and dangerous.

I won’t throw out the whole lot, though. There are about 40 something critters(R) up their standing in the way of the tax increase. It is the weak-kneed political whores that bring us all down.
