I miss the good old days when we could tar and feather politicians.

They'll be coming back soon. But they'll come with all the sacrifice and risk undertaken by those who did the original tar and feathering.

Still worth it?

I'm announcing my candidacy:

Here's my platform:

Eliminate benefits for illegal aliens, except emergency care needed to get them home and avoid spreading contagious disease while we transport..

No state funds for sanctuary cities.

State police to arrest local chiefs, sheriffs, mayors, and council members who don't enforce the laws.

Stop the furlough of state employees and put them to work full time. Reduce the pay of those who make 3,300 a month and higher.

Raise the age limits for receiving maximum state pensions. Reduce pensions for cops and firefighters from 3.0% per year to 2.5% at an older age.

Privatize two prisons. Rinse and repeat.

Implement school voucher programs in two counties. Rinse and repeat.

Pay for car insurance at the pump. You chose your company.

No state funds to try to control climate change.

Two year budget. Legislature meets every two years for 4 months.

One house, 100 representative legislature.

Build 20 nuclear power plants. Start the planning and approval process yesterday.

No pension for legislators. Health care benefits for public officials only while in office. No per diem for legislators who live within 50 miles of Sacramento. No per diem for being there after midnight. Must be there until at least 3 PM on days claiming per diem. Fire employees who run the elevators in the capitol. Legislators to ride regular state vehicles.

Ask NASA for Cal to pilot space solar panels to provide energy. NASA already researching this

No more wind farms, except on private land as the owner designates and can get permitted.

Support local desalinization plants.

Legalize non-Indian casinos as locally permitted. Increase taxes on entertainment and sporting events.

Eliminate the state capital gain tax for 2 years. Eliminate the state income tax in favor of flat or fair tax.

End of phase 1.

What’s a ‘vision’ speech?

A vision speech is one that includes a few popular buzzwords or themes with absolutely nothing to back them up and one that leaves all possibilties open in the future, including implementing policies in direct contrast to that presented.

IOW, it’s a “just win, baby” approach. (*Say* anything to get elected — they’re just words).

Yep - Ms. eBay apparently plans on many of those jobs she's promising to be that of slicing and vaccuming out of innocent human babies, all on the taxpayer's dime.

PASS! Bring on the next contestant, please...

I’d give her my vote,

I can only thank my God that you are not franchised in California.

Phase two. We're going to apply tough-love to every state funded program and service.

I left this out of phase one:

All public employee unions will be prohibited from contributing to those with whom they negotiate their contracts and those who approve them. Ends the bribery system.

All public employees will be notified that they do not have to contribute the percentage of their dues which go to bribing politicans (political contributions). They can, by law, withhold those funds.

Yes I will use the terms bribery, illegal, tough love and such. Kind of looking to Joe Arpaio as a role model.

Now all I need is 50 million to run or about 100,000 volunteers.

I once said, about Whitman, that “anyone who compromises on the right to life is willing to compromise on anything.”

I knew I couldn’t support Whitman for governor and you’ve just provided even more proof as to why I can’t and won’t support her.

I figured.

Now, if we just roll back the state government to the size and structure of the 1950’s California government, and then rescind all laws passed since the 1950’s we should be good to go.

It’s actually not an issue high on my list for governing California, but people should at least know the truth about where the candidates stand. Different people have different priorities for Government.

I posted the excerpts in response to someone that said she had strong positions on Life. She does—just not in the way originally implied.

Voters are going to have to select from a long list of liberals being pushed onto the ballot. (I haven’t seen a single conservative or traditional Republican mentioned as a potential candidate.) As such, knowing their positions on ALL issues is going to be very important.

"Whitman blasted a compromise plan to close California's $42 billion budget deficit, which has been stalled by political gridlock in the state Legislature all weekend. The deal, reached after months of painful negotiations between Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders, includes $15.1 billion in program cuts, $14.4 billion in temporary tax increases and $11.4 billion in borrowing... Whitman said the governor and legislators should be looking at deep cuts to the entire state government, not asking taxpayers to pay for the failed policies that have put the state on precarious financial footing. 'The professional politicians in Sacramento can't see past their differences long enough to save the state they claim to love,' she said."

YES!

I am personally very fond of Tom Campbell, but his position on the budget crisis is all about compromise and a "temporary" tax hike. Tom, if you're reading this, love ya, but you gotta toughen up. Otherwise Whitman will get my vote.

Spending alert:

I will stop the plan to spend 300,000,000 on a new death row, because the current one is too crowded. I will spend about 5 million a year establishing a 3 judge panel, paying lawyers, investigators, and staff to review and expedite death penalty appeals. I'll pay for DNA tests or whatever is needed to clear the case. I will execute those who can't get their case overturned through this appeal process and the supremes.

The reduction in death row and the cost avoidance should more than pay for the program and bring some justice to the victims and their familes who now wait decades.

I will not wash through federal funds for many programs. Example: voter registration. Immigrants will be registered when they take the oath of citizenship. High schools can register those 18s+ who want to vote. If someone else is too dumb to figure out how to register and vote, it's not exactly a boo-hoo moment for me. Citizens have some responsibility to participate without us playing nanny.

I need a campaign manager. I'm a good speaker and idea person. I also can analyze systems and figure out what to do. Nothing in my character to cause a problem. But I need someone who can run a campaign.

I figure we need about 4 constitutional amendments to get going. That's a lot of petitions. And petitions to get on the ballot. And don't we need a political party?
