Panetta Confirmed for C.I.A. Post
New York Times ^ | February 12, 2009, 11:15 pm

This was expected, but at the end of business earlier this evening, the Senate announced that Leon Panetta, an all-around respected official who has been in and out of government, was confirmed to become the next director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

The nod of approval was granted by a voice vote at the end of a long day. But Mr. Panetta pretty much sailed through his hearings with the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier.

Earlier in the nomination process, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, had seemed miffed that she wasn’t informed beforehand that Mr. Panetta, a longtime friend and fellow Californian, had been the choice of the Obama administration. But she quickly withdrew her public discontent, once she had received assurances from President Obama and others that key officials, like Steven Kappes, a deputy director, would be kept on board.

No surprise, I suppose. Would have been better to have actual intelligence experience.

I wonder what payback the Clintons had on O. Must be pretty big, IMHO, to appoint SOS to HRC and then have Pannetta confirmed as head of CIA.

Wonder who is really running the White House?

I am beginning to believe politics make strange bedfellows and I think O, Bill and HRC have put billions of Soro’s dollars into the vibrating bed machines.....probably just a memory for those of us baby boomers.

Well, Hillary has been awfully quiet.
Wonder if some files are now available to someone else.

Why is the name Panetta bringing visions of a grilled flat bread filled type thinly sliced Italian rich ham?

True, but if you can give the White House to someone with neither intelligence nor experience, it's a minor point that the new CIA director despises his organization and knows nothing about the job other than what he learned watching Oliver Stone movies.

Apparently “respected” means he has given up classified information anonymously to the NY Times, so they have to say nice things about the weasel.
Doesn’t matter that the info was carefully planted propaganda that had nothing to do with truth.

Leon Panetta, an all-around respected official

What else would you expect from the Slimes in describing this devout Clintonista? BTW, what is Panetta's intel experience?
