Prince Harry has become embroiled in a new race row after allegedly telling a comedian, Stephen K Amos, that he did not "sound like a black chap". Mr Amos has claimed that the Prince made the remark when they met after the stand-up show We Are Not Amused for the Prince of Wales' 60th birthday celebrations in November 2008. Mr Amos, from south-west London, made the disclosure on Five's The Wright Stuff on Tuesday.
He told presenter Matthew Wright that Prince Harry, 24, congratulated him on his performance before saying: "You don't sound like a black chap." As Mr Wright looked on in disbelief, Mr Amos added: "I wanted to say, 'How is I supposed to sound?'" Asked if the remark had been made in jest, he replied: "I hope it was."

I was standing on a subway platform one day, listening to a group of teenagers of various cultural backgrounds behind me. I turned around to see that the the girl who was the loudest and sounded most ghetto was Chinese or Filipino. Fo shizzle, mah nizzle!

Telling a black Chap he doesn’y talk black is just rude its not political correctness to not say that. I don’t think Harry meant anything by it or the Paki friend comment either though.
And to be perfectly honest, black men and women have a grainier texture to their voice. It isn’t about ebonics or hip hop slang, it’s about the tone of their voice.
Most of the time you can tell if you are talking to a black or white person on the phone and neither has an accent or speaks English any different than anyone else.
Noting that does not make me a racist and it doesn’t make Prince Harry one either.
Yes, I see no resemblance of Harry to Charles. I can see Charles in William though.

To go tattling about it indicates quite a lot about this "comedian". Sort of like the joker that turned in Phelps with his likeness smoking something or other.
In 1821 a prize fight took place for the championship of all England. The Bristol Butcher, Bill Neate, refused to hit his smaller opponent. Bill Hickman was so bemused after his thirty second rest,following his severe knockdown. He came out trying to adjust his belt. Hazlitt,the essayist, claimed that "this is the high heroic state of man". Refusing to hit a helpless man, was what he meant. Of course, Hazlitt, drew some derision for his statement.

Truth is, I remarked a few weeks ago that it was quite easy to differentiate between black callers from non-black callers on the talk radio shows, even though we can’t see them.
I grew up colorblind, in an upper middle class suburb with oriental and black neighbors, and it is only now that I am becoming what I have to admit is bigoted. Mainly because of what I perceive as black racism toward whites.

I spend several weeks annually in the miserable melting pot that is the UK...rarely do I encounter a colored person: east indian, caribbean black, senegalese, or what have you, that speaks unaccented english. the young prince was truly paying the man a compliment. there are not very many blacks in the country with cambridge english. this is obviously a tempest in a teapot that this comedian is using for publicity. fortunately for harry, he is independently wealthy, never has to worry about being king, and can and will tell the press to f-o.
He should have just called him articulate and clean.

I believe mr. amos misunderstood.
The prince didn’t say “you don’t sound like a black chap.” He actually said, “you don’t sound like your back(side) is chapped.” Meaning of course the “comedian” didn’t sound like a poofter.
Completely understandable mistake.
