Larry O’Donnell Dares Rush To Call For Abolition Of Medicare
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Claiming that Medicare is “pure socialism,” Larry O’Donnell has dared Rush Limbaugh to call for its abolition. The MSNBC political analyst and former of West Wing writer was David Shuster’s guest during MSNBC’s noon hour to discuss the flap that has arisen over Pres. Obama’s suggestion to Republican leaders that they not listen to Rush. For good measure, O’Donnell accused Rush of “lying” and suggested that Limbaugh’s audience is long in the tooth, claiming most of its members are on Medicare.

The abolition of Medicare would be a good start.

Setting a trap; also trying to distract us by concentrating on Rush.

Back to Mr. Soetoro now.

O’Donnell focuses on the closing down of MediCare, and I would focus on the ability I would like to see, folks be able to afford to pay for their own heath care regardless of age.

There are ways to make this happen. We should chose one and put it into effect over time.

For instance, by the age of 40, most of our populace should be self-insured. They should be well on their way to having a great retirement. They should be on the way to financing their own retirement health care.

Until we get the government out of our lives, it will continue to insert itself into our lives in ways we don’t like.

The government should be 1/10th the size it is today, and this is how we get there.

Why should Rush do Obambi's bidding via Larry O'Donnell?

Obambi needs to do it himself... --> gutless moron.

Anyone that doubts we are in a civil war is not paying attention. This is LIBERAL vs CONSERVATIVE, not Dim vs GOP. The lines do not break along traditional political lines, although the breakdown may be similar.

The only thing that would keep him from saying “OK, I call for the abolition of Medicare” is that he would have to acknowledge that Larry O’Donnell and MSNBC are worth paying attention to...

Medicare is pure socialism, and it has been a failure. It is going broke and there is widespread medicare fraud. It has also contributed to health care costs going up—people demand too much of anything when it is free, which in turn makes the price go up. It is a total failure and it will go broke on its own. What he correctly points out that it is hard to kill anything that is “free” from the government when people are sucking on the government tit.

Medicare like Social Security is a generational Ponzi scheme. Conservatives have long called for privatization of Social Security to reduce it to a poverty program to supplement private accounts. A similar solution would in the best interests of Medicare. However, it may be too late for both programs. The collapse of these two Ponzi schemes may take the US economy down and perhaps the world economy.

Medicare is “pure socialism”

As Medicare is headed for complete insolvency in a decade, I have to agree with him.

For people who worship the concept of "sustainability," liberals have no understanding of the concept of economic sustainability.

To be followed by the abolition of Social Security. It is nothing but socialism/communism and should not be part of a free capitalist system like we have in the US.

we can see what is going on here now

The president of the United states of America attacked a citizen who is not in office for the first time in the history as I believe.
The left is now going to go after Rush as he is the main spokesman for the right.
Silence him , silence others like Coulter(no chance) then the right has been silenced.

It was chilling to see this morning phony go on TV with a selected crowd, tell us global warming is fact , receive his applause and then walk away with no questions but the sound of clapping while the camera’s rolled.
Now they are going after Rush while using PC to silence others.

This is all chilling and what the Nazis and commies have done in the past.

Didn’t this half wit have a mental breakdown on MSNBC when he started screaming at some conservative calling him a liar liar and just kept screaming liar lies. He became unglued.

Note:
He is trying to turn older people against Rush. He is out there doing Obama’s dirty work.

O’Donnell has a habit of throwing the word “liar” around, must still be on the sauce.
