‘Sexting’ surprise: Teens face child porn charges

6 Pa. high school students busted after sharing nude photos via cell phones In an unusual legal case arising from the increasingly popular practice known as “sexting,” six Pennsylvania high school students are facing child pornography charges after three teenage girls allegedly took nude or semi-nude photos of themselves and shared them with male classmates via their cell phones.

The female students at Greensburg Salem High School in Greensburg, Pa., all 14- or 15-years-old, face charges of manufacturing, disseminating or possessing child pornography while the boys, who are 16 and 17, face charges of possession, according to WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, which published the story on its Web site on Tuesday.

Kind of silly to charge them, imo. They’re not selling it and they’re both kids. The lessons they learn will probably be enough from their parents and the schools they do this in.

I wonder if they’ll make them register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives?

If convicted they won’t be allowed within 500 ft of a school.

Or to be alone with themselves.

From the article it looks like at least ten years.

The insidious oozing of political correctness has bleached away the concept of shame from the nation's psyche. Couple that oozing rot with the insidious, never-ending creep of lawyers eroding the laws and you have the recipe for societal evolution into the hell of abject secularism. We have earned the hellish future mister affirmative action change brings with him. We are ripened for the empty mantra of 'hope for change' without a specific goal. God have mercy upon US

I learned the meaning of the phrase “statutory rape” when I was about fifteen. It occurred to me immediately that this is what teenagers having sex with each other should be charged with—teenage sex problem solved.

The only reason there are such problems on a wide scale is gutless parents and evil leftists in government.

Texting is a method of communicating without making noises that parents would hear.

Upside is that most kids can't spell or read without moving their lips (thanks NEA). When you get old and half deaf and learn to read texters lips... You realize that getting old and deaf is God's way of taking care of you.

These are dumb kids. But nowhere near as stupid as the prosecutors. I didn’t think people got as dumb as these numbskulls.

The whole point of strict laws against child pronography, is to protect children from exploitation. Treating 14 and 15 yead old girls, who took pictures of themselves, like 50 year old perverts taking pictures of 8 year olds, is insane.

We've got way too many prosecutors with way too much time on their hands, in this country.

Just like it’s silly to charge them when they steal.
And It’s silly to charge them when they set fire to buildings.

Yup You’re right Rick, It’s all just silly.

“We’ve got way too many prosecutors with way too much time on their hands, in this country.”

One thing you also have is a ticked off parent who spots a pic on their girl’s phone. Once they read how the law is written they realize they can get revenge as well as get the kid away from their daughter all in one swoop.

Well these prosecutors don't think they are doing anything to be ashamed about.

Maybe Shakespeare had it right. We’d probably be better off, if we just killed all the lawyers.
