WASHINGTON -- Former President George H.W. Bush said on Sunday he'd like to see his second son, Jeb, become President of the United States some day.

Interviewed on Fox News Sunday, Bush said his second son, a former Governor of Florida, had all the qualifications to serve in the White House.

Jeb Bush, 55, has said he was considering running for a U.S. Senate seat representing Florida in 2010. The current incumbent, Republican Mel Martinez, has announced he is stepping down.

"I'd like to see him run. I'd like to see him be president one day, or senator, whatever, yes I would," said Bush, who served as president from 1989-1993.

The problem with the last 20 years has been 12 years of liberal globalist Bushes sandwiched with a Clinton. Hope Jeb loses anything else he runs for and stays away from republican politics.

Bush Sr would like to see son Jeb as President.

I sure as hell don't. Nothing personal.

On principle, I don't abide "political dynasties."
That is completely antithecal to the letter and the spirit of the identity of the United States of America.

I have nothing against Jeb Bush. But, please, no more Bushes. No more Kennedys. And no more Clintons.

watching one son get the heck beat out of him for 8 years wasn’t enough? Plus the likelihood of at least two years of investigating to come?

Can we throw the Udalls in there too? They are making a big comeback again also! It’s getting old.

Absolute insanity! I fear the former President may be getting senile if he thinks this country would EVER vote another Bush into the White House. Has he not been paying attention to the media? Does he not realize how vilified our current President has been by the media, liberals, and conservatives alike (for different reasons of course)?

Seriously, this is absolute insanity. If Jeb Bush gets anywhere near the 2012 nomination we will KNOW for SURE that the fix is in, and it will DEFINITELY be time to disband the RNC, IMHO.

Of course he would - that would make him the only President to have two sons as President. He would be more famous than John Adams.

I remember when people speculated that W would another Reagan. Unfortunately, he was another George Bush. Better than the alternatives, but not by much.

The Bush dynasty has run its course.

I’m more inclined to think it will be George P. (Jeb’s son.) He’s young, handsome and Hispanic and he has been under the Bush family’s “grooming” for a long time:

Those in hell would like to see and have a glass of ice water. I would bet on the ice water thing happening first.

Because it will be a very cold day in hell when I vote for another Bush.

I agree. Bush Sr must have extremely thick skin watching and reading his son get blasted by the MSM everyday. Pedro Bush has more of a chance of win in the next 10 years.
