National Geographic Channel ran a show last night entitled, "Gun In America." According to the program, there are millions of misguided gun owners across the nation. Why? Because your guns are supposedly more likely to harm you than to help you in an emergency.
"As a society, we're totally out of control with weapons," said one Philadelphia cop who was interviewed during the show. "You need to limit access that people have to these type of firearms."

The only ones who need to worry about me and my guns are outlaws. Which includes anyone coming my door to collect them.
That's because they're largely political appointees. They toe the line or they're gone.
Oh...so you’re over 50 also?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seriously, they supported McCain/Palin against Hussein -- in Obama country? I'm surprised!
What did they do nationwide?
If he was a cop, he’d know better.
That’s the one. Thanks. You a cop, broski?
Yes, but not by much.
I told a friend of mine to “kiss my aged white ass” last night.
In a friendly, joking way.
Seriously. Grand Lodge? Dunno, I will assume the same.
A Phila. cop? Not one of Rizzo’s skullbusting boys.
Have this wimp talk to my son, the cop, about having guns to protect oneself. He was just 6 months back from Iraq when a drunk Mexican attacked his car, much to his sorry.
The Mexie almost got his head blown off by a legal concealed carry. Fortunately my son’s combat experience and training kept him from killing this drunken clown on the spot.
And this guy was a “legal.” Paid a fine and full restitution unlike the illegal who totalled my daughter’s car.
Swimming pools kill more people than accidental gun deaths. First, let’s outlaw swimming pools.
Post of the day!
I’ve seen dozens of threads here on Free Republic today, and your post is my favorite by far.
Thank-you for posting and telling it like it is.
National Geographic is left-wing, environmental-wacko, evolutionist propoganda.
I used to get NG, a gift from a relative. I think I’ll cancel my subscription.
Last straw. My 35 years subscription has ended this year.
LOL
well said
Still proudly clinging to my guns, ammo, incandescent lightbulbs,and most importantly to my saviour Jesus!
National Geographic needs to stick with elephants and sea turtles...
British gun policy:
snip-
“The blanket ban on handguns following the massacre of 16 schoolchildren in Dunblane in March 1996 has prevented similar mass killings from legally-owned pistols such as those witnessed in US, Germany and Finland. But in the meantime street gun crime has risen inexorably.
“Last year, there were nearly 10,000 firearms offences in England and Wales, a third higher than in 1998 with 566 people fatally or seriously injured.”
snip-
“The government’s approach to rising gun crime has been a mainly legislative one, aimed at the individual possessor; in 2006, the Home Office increased sentencing to a mandatory minimum of five years for possession of an illegal weapon.
“This much heralded measure has had negligible impact on the streets. The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies in their June report, said there was, no compelling evidence’ that the enforcement-led strategy is likely to prove a durable or effective way of dealing with firearm related offending.
snip-
“In January, the home secretary met with the parents of murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones and chose that inappropriate moment to make an announcement to ban all 120,000 legally owned de-activated weapons...”
(I’ve read elsewhere that home invasions are also on the rise in England)
why don’t they just put up the natives showing their breasts and leave guns to men that know what to do with them. jeez..
