McCain discusses Irish visa issue [amnesty for illegal Irish]
Irish Times, Dublin, Ireland ^ | 2008-12-09 | Pat Flynn

Posted on 12/08/2008 9:10:51 PM PST by rabscuttle385

The undocumented Irish in the United States were discussed at Shannon airport last night when the Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea TD met former US Republican presidential candidate senator John McCain.

After the meeting, Mr O'Dea said: "We met for about 40 minutes and it was very productive and cordial. Senator McCain has committed to raising the issue of the undocumented Irish with president-elect Obama on his return to the US."

Mr McCain's aircraft made a refuelling stop at Shannon on his way back to the US after spending the past week on a regional tour with two other members of the senate armed services committee, senators Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham.

Mr O'Dea was deputising for Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin who is on official business in Brussels.

Mr Martin has already committed to seeking a visa agreement with the US authorities for the "undocumented" Irish in the US. He stated last month that "finding a solution for our undocumented citizens is a key priority."

Arrangements for last night's meeting were finalised last Friday but were not publicised for security reasons.

The men also discussed the establishment of the new US customs pre-clearance facility which was agreed between the Irish and US governments last month and which will open in Shannon next year. The facility will speed up the process of entry into the US.

We accept a million legal immigrants each and every year.

I have yet to hear anyone explain why a million per year is not enough.

If a million is the right number, on what do we base it? And if a million is not enough, on what do we base that?

No one ever talks numbers. They just cast aspersions, that somehow we’re not an inclusive or tolerant or loving nation if we only accept a million legals per year, without explaining what would be the magic number that would grant us absolution.

No wonder Sarah couldn’t wait to get the hell away from him. She saw a RINO and ran as fast as she could away from him. I hope McCain realizes that the ONLY reason, and I mean ONLY reason why he got as many votes as he did was because of Sarah Palin. Good God the Republicans could have won this election if we didn’t have this ass clown on the top of the ticket.

A million is too damn many. We need to assimilate the LEGAL ones we have now before we admit anyone else. That’s going to take a generation or longer.

Ireland is a developed country with one of the strongest economies in Europe. SEnd the illegals back home at expense.
Ireland should worry about their own illegals. Sadly, Ive head that the Marxist IRA kneecaps those trying to fix the problem in Ireland.

"Ireland has had an economic and social renaissance. We hardly need to give illegals from Ireland a break..they ain't poor and uneducated."

I think they mean the "travellers"...sort of Irish crime wave...

1. Seal the driveway scam

2. Identity theft

3. Medicare fraud

4. Insurance fraud (fake accidents)

and the best of all....ripped off Home Depot nation wide for $millions in fake product bar codes.

I know what we all think amnesty is, and I really wanted to amnesty this Irish person a few years ago.

He stated last month that "finding a solution for our undocumented citizens is a key priority."

Simple. Follow the law.

Why do these folks ignore the law and then whine about finding a "solution" to the issue they created and already have the power to solve? We don't need no stinkin' agreements or special visas or new laws. And it doesn't matter if you're from Ireland or the Philippines or Mexico or Malawi. Follow the darn laws that are in place--and that includes enforcing those laws!

Yeah, and I have an idea to "document them"...

It is called DEPORTATION.

A nice big FAT ASS STAMP in their passport that says "Denial of Reentry Into the United States Effective for a 10 Year Period From Issue of This Order".

Then their illegal alien asses will be "documented" allright.

Works for me.

I hope that a real Republican challenges McCain in the primary.
