Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.
The first shooting took place near the CST police station

A small Jewish toddler was orphaned in Mumbai last November amid a reign of terror carried out for the “prestige of Islam,” according to a transcript of phone calls between the terrorists and their handlers published this week in an Indian newspaper.
The terrorists murdered six Jews during the multi-pronged attack which began November 26, 2008 and ended in a river of blood at the Nariman Chabad House and additional locales. The three-day slaughter, which took the lives of dozens of others elsewhere in Mumbai, India as well, also carried the additional goal of damaging relations between Israel and India, as expressed by the handlers from Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based terrorist group.

SNIPPET: “An impending threat from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group has prompted security establishments to raise an alert along India’s western sea-coast. According to intelligence sources, the LeT’s marine wing is planning a Mumbai-type incursion to target vital installations in the three coastal states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. The group is also reported to have funneled huge amounts of money from its Gulf-based networks to fund jihad activities in India (Times of India, June 30). This is not an isolated intelligence alert. The threat emanating from the LeT was partially revealed following the recent arrest of Muhammad Omar Madni, a close associate of LeT/Jamaat-ud- Dawa chief Hafeez Muhammad Saeed. The arrest and interrogation of Madni revealed several startling details, including new routes used by terrorists, the location of bases inside and outside India, terrorist finances, and the recruitment strategy of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Muhammad Omar Madni, who also oversees LeT’s Nepal operations, was on a mission to recruit youths and send them to Pakistan for training. Madni travelled widely through Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and the Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, seeking funding and logistical support. His task was to recruit educated and computer-savvy youths from the major metropolises of India (Press Trust of India, June 7). Indian agencies believe he is not the only LeT recruiter in the sprawling hinterland of India (Statesman, [Kolkata], June 5). Madni’s brother Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, another Lashkar operative who worked closely with him, is presently based in Qatar (Telegraph [Kolkata], June 6).
Besides the usual routes of intrusion in Jammu and Kashmir, LeT has managed to build alternate routes through the porous borders of Nepal and Bangladesh while establishing bases in the Gulf countries. Investigating agencies have now confirmed that LeT is working on a new strategy which involves using Dubai as the center of planning for future strikes against India (India Today, June 22). Past and ongoing terror investigations suggest the Gulf countries have been the major hubs for LeT terrorists and many terrorist plots against India are now hatched outside Pakistan’s territory.”

Several govt sites hacked
Excerpts from Pakistan Observer article.
Islamabad—Unidentified hackers on Friday hacked several Pakistan government sites including web sites and posted messages of their own.
The sites which were hacked included www.pak.gov.pk; www.infopak.gov.pk and www.pakistan.gov.pk. The FIA’s Cyber Crime Cell was unable to restore the hacked sites by Friday night by the time of our going to press.
The hackers which called themselves as “Pak Bugs” posted the following messages on the hacked web sites: “Happy Independence Day” and “We don’t need an intro, you guys already know us.”
The Pak Bugs group also remained engaged with Indian hackers in an India-Pakistan cyber-war soon after Mumbai and forced the Indians to reach an accord in November 2008 pledging not to hack each others’ sites. Soon after the Mumbai attack Indian hackers had hacked dozens of Pakistani sites and in response Pak Bugs hacked over three dozen Indian sites.

SNIPPET: “NEW DELHI: Less than a week before 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives executed at least 173 people in Mumbai last November, David Coleman Headley checked out of a nondescript guest house near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and caught a flight home.
His friends in the U.S., more likely than not, would have complimented him on his fortunate escape.
Now, there is mounting suspicion among the Mumbai Police investigators that Headley may have helped facilitate the Mumbai massacre by carrying out pre-attack reconnaissance in the city.
Last month, the Federal Bureau of Investigations charged Headley — born Dawood Gilani in Pakistan — and his associate Tahawwur Husain Rana, with plotting terrorist attacks in Denmark and India. Headley, Mumbai Police investigators say, visited Mumbai at least five times between 2006 and 2009, claiming to work for the Immigration Law Centre — a concern run from Mumbai’s Tardeo area.
Mumbai Police investigators suspect the concern may have been used to secure passports and visas for Lashkar recruits to travel to Pakistan through west Asia. Because of his apparently western name, Headley had succeeded in obtaining a long-term business visa and faced no scrutiny from authorities.
Rana, a Pakistan-born Canadian national, also visited New Delhi and Mumbai in April, 2009 — possibly, investigators suspect, to liaise with operatives of a still-active Lashkar cell.
Transcontinental Network prosecutors in the U. S. have so far refused to publicly identify the Lashkar commanders who handled Headley and Rana.
But a credible Washington, D.C., based source familiar with the LeT has told The Hindu that one of two men held by authorities in Pakistan in connection with the arrests, at the FBI’s request, is Sajid Mir — a Lahore-based commander responsible for handling the jihadist organisation’s networks in Europe and the U.S.”

“FBI gets 60 days to file charges against India terror plotters”
SNIPPET: “Chicago court’s chief Judge James F. Holderman has extended till next Jan 1, the period of filing indictment against the accused duo, David Coleman Headley, a Pakistan-born American national, and his Pakistan-born Canadian associate Tahawwur Hussain Rana.
FBI agents arrested Headley Oct 18 from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport as he was preparing to board a flight to Philadelphia, and subsequently arrested Tahawwur Hussain Rana, whose former name was Daood Gilani. The two intended to travel to Pakistan, apparently to firm up their latest terror designs.
The court has also put off further hearing on Rana’s bail plea by a week after the FBI sought a rescheduling of the hearing and filed additional papers with the court, disclosing inflammatory videos of Al Qaeda, containing speeches by Osama bin-Laden and others, that had been recovered from Rana’s Chicago residence.
At the request of counsel, the hearing on Rana’s case before Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan is re-scheduled from Tuesday to Nov 19, a Justice Department official said.
The FBI vigorously opposed the bail plea of Rana arguing that he was “innocent” and had been “duped” by Headley, his schoolmate in Pakistan.”

30. Since the beginning of 2008, Individual A and RANA have communicated through the use of multiple email accounts. As discussed throughout this affidavit, Individual A, RANA, Individual B and Lashkar-e-Taiba Member A have frequently used coded language and changed their methods of communications in order to conceal the nature and content of their communications. For example, on or about March 4, 2009, after acknowledging receipt of an email from Individual A, RANA sent a response with the following pertinent content:
One of my brothers in Brigadier Movadat Hussain Rana and the other is Sibte Hassan Rana monie. They are in Rawalpindi. I really admire emails making it instant half mulaquat especially yahoo as it seems superior to hotmail. Talk to you later.
(Emphasis supplied.) Records reveal that the email account “mov.monie@yahoo” was created on or about March 6, 2009, at a particular internet protocol address, the user of which was located at the Chicago business address of First World Immigration. That same day, Individual A accessed the mov.monie@yahoo account from an internet protocol address in the United Arab Emirates, and sent an email from mov.monie@yahoo to RANA at his personal email address, asking RANA to contact Individual B.
31. Further, on or about August 28, 2009, in a recorded telephone conversation between Individual A and Individual B, Individual A spoke in coded language to describe a new account that Individual A had created for their continued communications. More specifically, after informing Individual B that he had formed an account on the “same system,” Individual A instructed him to write his colleague’s name and his younger brother’s name and write the names without spaces and write 1 with it. On or about August 25, 2009, Individual A created such an account with a name blending two first names.
32. On or about October 3, 2009, as Individual A was preparing to travel to Pakistan, Individual A spoke to RANA in a conversation that was recorded. Individual A asked RANA to create an email account using the Gmail service with the user name “liaqatbin11.” Individual A instructed RANA to change the email account name after using it two or three times, and gave him directions for changing the name. Individual A stated that the “liaqatbin” portion of the name would remain, but that the number 11 would change, and that to determine the second number, RANA should start by multiplying by two and subtracting two. Individual A explained that the number used to multiply 11 would increase by one with each new account. Individual A provided an example, and RANA worked the math out loud for determining several numbers.”

SNIPPET: “Given below are extracts from the affidavit filed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the US in the district court of the Northern district of Illinois on October 11, 2009, justifying its decision to arrest David Coleman Headley, originally known as Dawood Gilani till 2006. These extracts relate to the three Pakistan-based ring leaders of the conspiracy to carry out terrorist strikes in Denmark and India.
2. As already reported, while the FBI identifies one of the ring leaders by name as Ilyas Kashmiri of the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI) and gives his detailed background, it refrains from identifying the two other ring leaders, who are merely referred to as Individual A and Lashkar-e-Toiba member A. However, a perusal of the extracts given below would show that the FBI must be aware of their identities. Why is it coy about identifying them? Has it at least told the Indian agencies about their identities? Has it asked the Government of Pakistan to arrest them and hand them over to the FBI for further interrogation? If not, why not?
3. A perusal of the extracts indicates the following:
(a). Headley had two channels of communications in Pakistan—— with Individual A and LET member A.
(b). He had no direct contact with Ilyas Kashmiri. All his communications with him were through Individual A.
(c). Individual A was arrested by the Pakistani authorities in connection with the investigation of the November 2008 murder of Maj-Gen. Amir Faisal Alvi, formerly of the Special Services Group (SSG), who was the brother of Lady Naipaul, wife of writer Sir V.S.Naipaul. But he was subsequently released. He was close to Maj. Haroon Ashiq, the principal accused in the murder, who reportedly confessed that he and other accomplices murdered Alvi on the instructions of Ilyas Kashmiri. Why did they murder Alvi? Did he play any role in the SGG’s commando action in the Lal Masjid of Islamabad in July,2007?Are all of them, including Individual A, former officers of the SSG, as Ilyas was? If so, did these ex-SSG officers train the LET team that attacked Mumbai on 26/11? These questions need the attention of the Indian investigators.”

Jean-Louis Bruguiere, a former French investigative magistrate who specialized on al Qaeda and investigated the terror group in Pakistan, has more damning information on al Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the groups’ ties to each other and the Pakistani state. From Reuters:
In an interview, Bruguiere said he was convinced Lashkar-e-Taiba, first set up to fight India in its part of the divided Himalayan region of Kashmir, had become part of an international network tied to al Qaeda.

Bruguiere goes on to explain that shoe-bomber Richard Reid and three other Westerns were trained in a Lashkar-e-Taiba camp by Pakistani soldiers who doubled as members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. The training camp was supported by the Pakistani Army. “Military supplies were dropped by army helicopters,” Reuters reported.

While preliminary investigations are expected to go on for at least six weeks, sources said there is evidence to show that Headley checked in at least twice in Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Towers more than a year before it was targeted by the Lashkar’s attackers on 26/11.
And that once in 2008 Rana came to India using this name when he travelled extensively across the country — “from top to bottom on the map” — and visited several places in the North, South and West.
Headley is believed to have accompanied Rana on some of these trips. Investigators are exploring the possibility of them using these trips as “recce missions,” sources said, and their links, if any, to the 26/11 attacks.”

The Mumbai police today carried out raids in Bandra, its adjoining suburb Khar and BPO hub Goregaon in search of Headley’s local acquaintances and contacts.
“He (Headley) mapped the Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus, Taj and Trident hotels and Nariman House. We are interrogating (filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s son) Rahul to find out when he went to Leopold Café. That he did is certain — when he did that is what we need to know,” a top officer said.
Headley had visited the Mumbai home of Rahul, who contacted police after learning of the terror suspect’s arrest by America’s Federal Burau of Investigation (FBI) last month.

The FBI seized a book called How to Pray Like a Jew from him at the time of his arrest in Chicago. He had prepared himself thoroughly to pose as a Jew,” the officer said.
This morning, the police detained two tourist guides near the Gateway of India for questioning. It is suspected they may have aided Headley or other 26/11 plotters.
“The lead for this came from the FBI,” the officer acknowledged. “We now know most details about Headley’s recce of the terror targets, but there is a bit of a problem in case of Trident hotel as much of its past records were destroyed in the 26/11 attack. But we are getting there and will soon have the information.””
SNIPPET: “Between 2006 and 2009, Headley ran a firm called Immigration Law Centre out of Tardeo AC Market in south Mumbai with the help of a local Parsi woman. Late last night, officials of the federal National Investigating Agency, which has now joined the probe with Mumbai police, visited Headley’s immigration firm.
“A lot of facts have emerged from the interrogation of his co-worker/partner at the firm. She has been very co-operative. We now know Headley rarely used mobile phones and computers; but he did have a Tata Indicom landline number that he used while operating this immigration business. His mobile number is also with us and is leading us to some of his local contacts/acquaintances,” the source said.
Officially, Headley’s job was to facilitate US and Canadian visas for semi-skilled and unskilled workers. The investigators are trying to find out whether he had any contacts in local consulates.”

The Italian police have arrested, after almost a year long monitoring and surveillance, two Pakistani nationals (Father and Son duo) from Brescia city who are accused of sending funds from their money transfer agency and providing the logistical support to Pakistani terrorists. The suspects Mohammad Yaqub Janjua and Aamer Yaqub Janjua, owners of the Madina Trading telephone centre and a Western Union branch, were identified by the Mumbai’s terror investigating agencies and FBI earlier. Since then both were under constant surveillance. They were accused for transferring money (approx USD 229 on November 25, just a day before the carnage) under a false name to pay fees for the Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service which was used by the terrorists during the three-day terror attack.
In early this year (in Feb 2009), Mohammed Janjua denied the accusation when his name cropped up in the Mumbai investigation dossier and attempted to come clean. He instead blamed another suspect arrested in Pakistan that time, Javed Iqbal, a resident of Barcelona (Spain) who travelled to Brescia and transferred money to a US address in New Jersey in the name of Nizar al-Sharif. The money was used in buying five telephones, three of which were used by the terrorists and handlers in the Mumbai attacks.”

ISLAMABAD — The Islamist militant group behind the deadly attack in Mumbai one year ago remains a potent force determined to strike India and the West, and a source of acrimony between South Asia’s nuclear-armed rivals, say officials and members of the militant faction.
Indian officials and experts say at least six new plots against Mumbai by the Pakistan-based group, Lashkar-e-Taiba, have been disrupted in the 12 months since 10 gunmen wrought three days of havoc on India’s financial capital, killing 166 people.
Lashkar’s infiltration of India’s part of Kashmir is again on the upswing, the officials say; and a U.S. citizen with alleged ties to Lashkar was recently arrested in Chicago, evidence of the group’s reach, U.S. officials say.
“Our aims are the same today as they were 10 years ago,” said a man who identified himself as a former Lashkar militant now working with its charity arm. “We are waging war on the enemies of Islam.”
U.S. officials and experts say hitting India remains the primary focus for Lashkar, which was nurtured in the 1990s by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency for use as a proxy against Indian forces in the divided Himalayan region of Kashmir. Pakistan banned the group in 2002 and officials here say they cut ties with it at the time.
But no one disputes that Lashkar continued to operate from Pakistan, repeatedly striking Indian targets in recent years. Another Mumbai-style attack, say officials from both countries, risks sparking a fourth war between the neighbors.

There have been a plethora of TV shows about the attack, most of the dealing with the captured cell phone conversations between the Muslim murderers and a psychotic “handler” in Pakistan.
None of the media accounts talk about the horrific torture that occurred.
It is almost as if we live in a parallel universe.
The MSM are complicit in evil.
