A British man suspected of terror offences in the UK has been arrested in Tanzania, police in the east African country have said. Police said Assan Ali Iqbal was held after he was found to be holding two passports - a crime in Tanzania. Tanzanian authorities said they had verified that a British passport Mr Iqbal was carrying was genuine. The Foreign Office confirmed the arrest of a British national and said it was offering consular assistance. It subsequently confirmed his name, but did not release further details.
