NBC's Ann Curry aborted her quest to find proof of global warming at the peak of Tanzania's Mt. Kilimanjaro. But at about a half mile shy of her goal, she did find proof that sub-zero degree temperatures and thin, low oxygen concentration air might do a 52 year old woman and her crew serious harm, particularly when altitude safety rules take the back seat to ideology.
For those of you who may not know, as part of last week's silly "Ends of the Earth" series, itself part of their even sillier "Green is Universal" week, the network dispatched four Today show anchors to various locales to discover and teach the world the truth about global warming.
The sweeps week stunt was ceremonially launched during Sunday Night Football when not the stadium but the studio lights gave way to candles for the game's duration. I kid you not. During the flickering half time, Meredith Vieira, appearing from Australia, where she was sent to make friends with supposedly drought-endangered Australian Penguins, broke the deep-guarded secret of where in the world each anchor had landed.
Matt Lauer received the harrowing assignment of examining the coral reefs of Belize for signs of bleaching. Al Roker was roaming about Iceland investigating glaciers. Warned Vieira:
"And if they were to melt, the oceans could rise at least 200 feet."
Two hundred feet. That's a full order of magnitude beyond the projection that got goofy Al Gore laughed off the credibility stage in 2006. So the agenda was made crystal clear before the broadcast week even began. Yet these three remote puff pieces were mere opening acts for the main attraction.

I saw this show. Great comedy.
All the co-hosts of the Today show are disoriented and have trouble thinking when at sea level......
I suggest the NBC crew next try climbing Everest’s Fantasy Ridge or K2.
If these DNC / Al Gore cultists were not so dangerous they would be funny !
Well at least she didn't have her pretty face eaten off by the 'indigenous peoples.' ;~))
I do have to say though, she doesn’t look guilty.
I left this comment on the website:
Not to mention the southern hemisphere is now getting more INSOLATION (incoming solar radiation), or direct sunlight than the northern hemisphere, which as most if not all not-brain-dead humans know as the changing of seasons. Of course there will be less snow at the summit, for the simple reason that it’s warmer below the equator, for all of us living above it.
Are Liberals really that stupid? I was last in Earth Science in high school, into winter of 2003 was the last time I had that stuff, and I still remember it.
Science terms NOT on the SAT for the win.
It seems that the MSM’s aging Hippie elite don’t believe that the laws of nature and physics apply to them physically or logically. They disregard human physiology and almost die; they disregard science and lie.
You betcha.
They can spend huge sums of time and treasure on enviro-wacko stories but cannot dig into the college, medical, birth, adoption, and other records of their Marxist messiah?
They can all go and suck on a tailpipe for toxicity for all I care. Anything detrimental happening to them as a result of political manipulation is fine in my book.
and just look at that street today
Michael Creighton was an important voice - he’s missed.
OMG proof we are all going to die..... ! ;^)
Let’s see, if only a third of Earth’s surface is land, and two thirds is water, actual volume of water is much higher than volume of land in cubic miles, more like 25/75%.
And on that land there is about 3% equivalent land mass trapped above the water line. If that melts, it reduces itself to less than 2%, and much of that water will stay on land due to variable terrain.
That would effectively make the Oceans rise about a foot or two. (If that much)
But go ahead, make up more hype and lies to stampede the Lemmings to the edge of the cliff no matter what it takes. Now is the chance to get all that extreme environmental legislation locked in. Obama is right there with with them and will make sure it is the first thing he does as President.
(God help us!)
