He’s got a point. Now is the time for all good brothers to take responsibility for their children and their lives.

If anything comes out of BO reign, I hope that it is a renewal of black America. There is no other effective hope than people taking responsibility for their own actions and helping themselves.

Im standing around all dudes and we are breaking out in tears. Having your take home pay reduced will do that...
Obamas victory has instilled a sense of responsibility in all African-Americans.
Uhhhh... News Flash: That has been the Republican platform from day one. You liberals and Democrats don't like responsibility, that's why you voted for "free gasoline and free mortgages!" Dumb a$$!

Well, since we still haven’t had a female president, I think I’ll choose sloth and silliness. Yeah....that’s the ticket.
To: RDTF
You mean we don't have to worry about this any more?
To: RDTF
Now we have a responsibility, a huge responsibility to make sure we do the right thing now and to cut out all the madness and silliness. Now we dont have an excuse. Is he saying the black community has NOT been responsible up to this point?
If a white person said this about the black community, they would be crucified...

Was this a comedy bit? Did welfare lines dwindle as lines formed for couples to get married, find jobs, and otherwise act like responsible free people? Did I miss that part on TV? Did Obama already give a morality bailout to his people?
To: RDTF
I give the responsibility meme about a week, then it’s back to blaming Whitey for obstructing the Great One’s program.

Unfortunately I think this feeling is only going last a little while. Once the 0bamatons weep at the inaug and watch the SOTU address, they will slowly but surely realize that 0bama will not bring them Heaven on Earth, that he is just another hack politician. Did Dinkens’ mayoralty inspire generations of African-Americans in NYC?

I wonder if Jamie knows how Obama got to be President.
Or how he got to be Senator.
Or how he got to be State Senator.
I think it amounts to a kind of responsibility only
to the demands of one’s own ego, which ego has been carefully cultivated and buffed up into something
which is unrecognizable as anything human.
