(IsraelNN.com) Hamas must recognize Israel as a condition for talks with the administration to be formed by President-elect Barack Obama, his spokesman Dennis McDonough said Saturday night.
He was responding to a Hamas statement on Friday that it wanted to talk with the President-elect Obama despite negative statements Hamas made during the recent presidential campaign.
During the US presidential election campaign, Obama's spokesman stated, "Sen. Obama strongly opposes talking to Hamas, a terrorist group committed to Israel's destruction. As president, he will work to isolate Hamas and target its resources, and rejects any dialogue until Hamas recognizes Israel, renounces terrorism, and abides by previous agreements."
Khaled Mashaal, leader of the Syrian-based political office of Hamas, told British Sky News Saturday that the terrorist organization is ready to talk with the new Obama government "on the basis that the American administration respects our rights and our options."
On Friday, de facto Gaza prime minister and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh commented, "We are ready to hold a serious dialogue with the new United States president."
Mashaal cautioned the U.S. that if it wants to be involved in the Middle East, it has "no other option than deal with Hamas because we are a real force on the ground."
Hamas does recognize ISRAEL.
They recognize Israel every time they look through their Rocket aiming SIGHTS.
“I Recognize Israel .. then I pull Trigger”
OY VEY!!!!
This goes on and on with every radical Isalmic group in Palestine.
Recognize Israel and we will reward you. But the upshot is they always get the reward and Israel gets more casualties and destruction.
Go have a chat with a murderous international terrorist organization.
Let me know how well it goes, you stupid @sshole.
Hell I’m suprised Obama even took this hard of a line.
Makes two of us, and I'm left to wonder, for how long will he hold that harder line? Not long, my sense of reality tells me...
the infowarrior
I do not think the Jesse Jackson crowd is going to be pleased by this announcement.
the probable conversation is something like . . . if you recognize Isarel,. . . I will make them give you the Golan Heeights back and give you a seaport, . . thinking that’s enough
So it starts.....
oh forgot, left one issue out in exchange for recognition of Isarel, he will throw in Golan Heights and a seaport and the Jerusleum issue, Almost forgot, Obama will want to divide it like he said. Wonder if he was reading Tom Clancy on Jerusleum
I will bet that’s what he will do.
Elect a worldly ‘Christian’ with Moslem roots. You get Jacobs trouble.
I thought he was gonna do it unconditionally. What happened to that idea. I think he should be on a plane Jan 20th to talk to the ahole.
Recognizing Jews, Hamas style:
Hamas further demonstrates openly its adherence to a central motif of Jewhatred in Muslim eschatologyArticle 7 of the Hamas Charter concludes with a verbatim reiteration of the apocalyptic hadith alluded to earlier:'The Last Hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: `Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him'; but the tree Gharkad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.' (Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6985).

I'm sorry, this is NOT unconditional, he broke a campaign promise.
Israel, that's the target to the north and east, commonly referred to as the Zionist Entity.
Since Hamas condems Rotary International in their charter as part of the Zionist conspiracy, do they have to recognize Rotary too?
If they don't, what will our President elect say if invited to speak at a Rotary Club. So many things to talk out, even before you talk things out.
Israel must rise early and slay them first..
