Senator Palin? (Vanity)

Posted on 11/06/2008 12:21:11 PM PST by SoCalSteve

I suggest that Senator Ted Stevens be removed from office due to his recent felony convictions and that Governor Palin replace him with herself, IMMEDIATELY! Then, have Mitch McConnell appoint her to the energy committee, for example. Then, in 2010, after Senator Palin has 2 years of experience in Washington DC, like Obama did, announce she's running for President in 2012! What do you Freepers think of that??

If she doesn’t stay as governor of Alaska, where are we going to flee to when the Holocaust against evangelicals begins?

Stop it....she’s going back to continue her great work as governor of AK. We don’t need any more senators running for prez.

But would four more years as Alaska governor be better? (assuming, of course, that she wins re-election in 2010)

I don't think I'll be taking advice from a newbie.

Terrible idea. This year notwithstanding, only 2 sitting senators have ever been elected president, and, come 2012, she’d have to abandon her seat if she won president or VP. Far better to appoint a staunch conservative after the crook Stevens is booted out of the Senate by dingy Harry.

I would not put her on energy. She knows energy. I would put her on Foreign relations or something to that effect where she could get a bit more resume enhancement.

won’t work anyway their rules don’t apply to us, she’ll be crucified for being too inexperienced and for running for president as soon as she gets to the senate.

Governors who appoint themselves to the Senate nearly always lose when the stand for reelection.

Sarah is better off running Alaska and winning reelection in 2010 as a springboard to the White House.

Members of the Senate rarely win their party's nomination, this year's contest notwithstanding.

The Senate teaches negotiation and compromise, not leadership. Don't waste Palin’s talent in the Senate.

What do you Freepers think of that??

This Freeper thinks this vanity is a waste of bandwidth. There are already ample threads about Palin's political future.

I don’t think so.
Why would we want to taint Sarah Palin with the Senate?
some people govern, others debate.
And do we really want to further turn Sarah into John McCain?

I believe she will appoint Parnell, whom she endorsed in his unsuccessful run against Don Young for the GOP nomination.

I don’t want to make her into a good ‘ol boy/gal/.

Let her have her life back until she decides what is best for HER not you.
