FORTY WAYS McCain Can Become the 44th President of the United States Tomorrow (Nov. 4, 2008)
Nov. 3, 2008 | Biochemky

The statement below about McCain’s chances of winning is taken from the article cited below that is on Drudge:

“Election Guide: Keep early eye on Ga., Va., Ind.”

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081104/D947P7M81.html

Statement

“McCain's strategy has no room for error; he must win nearly all the states that went to Bush in 2004, and possibly even one or two that voted for Democrat John Kerry that year.”

The statement above is FALSE: McCain has FORTY ways to win the White House 11/4.

Truth: McCain can lose ANY Bush 2004 red state other than Ohio or Florida, or any combination of Bush 2004 red states that together total 16 electoral votes, and not take any Kerry 2004 blue states and become the 44th President of the United States of America.

21 WAYS McCAIN WINS INVOLVING ONLY BUSH 2004 RED STATES:

(1) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states

(2) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA

(3) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NC

(4) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except CO

(5) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA

(6) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NV

(7) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NM

(8) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except MT

(9) McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NC and MT

(10)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except CO and MT

(11)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except CO and NV

(12)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except CO and NM

(13)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA and MT

(14)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA and NV

(15)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA and NM

(16)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA,NV,MT

(17)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except IA,NM,MT

(18)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NV and MT

(19)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NM and MT

(20)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NV and NM

(21)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NV,NM,MT

19 WAYS McCain WINS INVOLVING LOSS OF BUSH 2004 RED STATES AND GAIN OF KERRY 2004 BLUE STATES:

(1)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL and CO & wins PA

(2)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL and IA & wins PA

(3)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL,IA,MT & wins PA

(4)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL,NM,NV & wins PA

(5)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL & NM or NV & wins PA

(6)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL & NM or NV & MT & wins PA

(7)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL & wins MN & NH or ME(1)

(8)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except FL & MT and wins MN & NH

(9)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except OH & wins MN or NH

(10)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except OH & CO & wins MN & NH

(11)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except OH, NM, & NV and wins MN & NH

(12)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA & NC and wins MN & NH

(13)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA, NC, & MT and wins MN, NH, & ME(1)

(14)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA & CO and wins MN

(15)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA, CO, & NM or NV and wins MN & NH

(16)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except VA, CO, & NM or NV and wins MN & NH

(17)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NC & CO and wins MN

(18)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NC,CO,& NM or NV and wins MN & NH or MN & ME(1)

(19)McCain wins all Bush 2004 red states except NC, CO, & NM or NV, & MT and wins MN & NH

Truth: If McCain loses only the red state of Ohio WITHOUT offsetting that loss by winning at least 4 electoral votes that went to Kerry in 2004 (i.e. NH) OR if McCain loses only the red state of Florida WITHOUT offsetting that loss by winning at least 11 electoral votes that went to Kerry in 2004 (i.e. MN & NH or MN & ME) will McCain fall below 270 electoral votes and fail to become the 44th President of the United States of America.

Nobody will become the 44th President of the US as of November 4, 2008, unless President Bush resigns suddenly.

McCain can become President-elect before Jan. 20 but the only way he becomes POTUSA before Jan. 20 is if President Bush resigns or worse...... so let’s hope he waits until Jan. 20 to be sworn in as the 44th POTUSA.

If Bush were to resign before inauguration day, I believe that Cheney would become President until then.

“Wow, alot of research you did there!”

I did the research BECAUSE I am sick and tired of EVERYONE in the media forgeting that all of the BUSH 2004 states together equaled 286 electoral votes, not 270 electoral votes.

This is a major thing to keep in mind tomorrow.

Because of this fact, McCain can lose 16 electoral votes from Bush 2004 red states and still become President. Also because of this fact McCain can become President even if he loses VA or CO & IA, or NM, NV, & MT and NEVER TAKE ONE KERRY 2004 BLUE STATE. In addition, because of this, McCain can even lose OH & VA as long as he takes PA. McCain can lose Florida as long as he takes MN.

The Nikkei is up almost 5%. I think this is a response to the japanese knowing that McCain is winning as they are already experiencing Nov 4th.

/DU confusion

Wow, thanks for posting that. I will be re-reading it all day tomorrow.

My prediction: McCain wins all but one of Bush’s states, but picks up 3 Kerry states. McCain wins!

I think Obamugabe’s coal comments could push McCain over the top in PA,OH,WV (almost certainly) and VA (if there’s any coal there;)

Yes, this is a great point to make and you have done some terrific research to list all these possibilities. I too have tired of the Mediascum making it sound like McCain/Palin MUST not only win every Bush ‘04 state but then some more.....

Of course, a resounding win with a comfortable margin would be nice, but the most important thing is to WIN.

Thanks for outlining the many possibilities still in play for victory tomorrow.

That’s an excellent observation. If I were them I certainly would be hoping McCain wins!

Which Bush state will McCain lose (you think)?

I think McCain loses NM (definitely) & Iowa (probably)

Which Kerry states will Bush win (you think)?

I think his best shot is PA, then ME (1 ev), then NH.

There’s coal in western VA.

i know Obama’s coal comments will hurt him in eastern Kentucky (Appalachia) too.
