Gun Sales Thriving In Uncertain Times
By Fredrick Kunkle

Americans have cut back on buying cars, furniture and clothes
in a tough economy, but there's one consumer item that's still
enjoying healthy sales: guns.
...SNIP...
Several variables drive sales, but many dealers, buyers and
experts attribute the increase in part to concerns about the
economy and fears that if Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois wins
the presidency, he will join with fellow Democrats in Congress to
enact new gun controls.
...SNIP...
"Even though [Obama] has a lot going for him, he's not very
pro-gun," said Paul Pluff, a spokesman for Massachusetts-based
Smith & Wesson, which has reported higher sales. Gun enthusiasts
are "going to go out and get [firearms] while they still can."

I ran into some toys at Cabellas yesterday...
Anyone familiar with...PantherArms?
Tulsa, weekend after the election. Huge gun show if you really want to buy a gun. It is one of the largest gun shows you will ever see. At the fair grounds.
I found this elsewhere ;^)

Moynihan Asks Big Tax Increase On Ammunition
By ADAM CLYMER
Published: November 4, 1993
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan said today that he would insist that President Clinton’s health-care plan include a huge increase in Federal taxes on handgun ammunition that would make some especially destructive bullets unaffordable.
The New York Democrat has often contended that the best way to attack gun violence would be to restrict the sale of ammunition, not guns. Today, for instance, he noted that the nation has a 200-year supply of guns but only a 4-year supply of ammunition.
“Guns don’t kill people; bullets do,” he told the Senate as he introduced his legislation today. “It is time the Federal Government began taxing handgun ammunition used in crime out of existence.”

I bought a Bushmaster AR-15 Tuesday...I put it off for far too long, but finally bought it because it is quite possible that in a few months it might not be possible to do so.
I looked at Panther, talked to a bunch of buds with AR-15’s and went with the Bushmaster...but it is a matter of personal choice. They are all built to Mil-spec, and these days I believe all can handle both .223 and 5.56 rounds.
Put a red dot scope on it and sighted it in on Wednesday at the Gun Club...it is a blast (no pun intended)...and at 50 yds can put it consistently inside the 1” circle.
Buying guns and ammo at this point is highly recommended.
...just picked up a new .380 auto/hollow points/concealed carry holster last week...the guy at the gun store said sales were up, the pistol range was busy and their next concealed carry class was booked full.
Walmart for the first time I have ever seen has this huge display of gun cleaning kits up here in Alaska, normally its down an isle but no this display is big.
Thanks...
I had NBC on for local news and did other things after, left it on and overheard Brian Williams mention this, but his reasoning was the economy and thus a fear of increased crime.
Ummm Brian?
bitter clinger?
ObamaNation is the reason!
You pathetic drive-bys are helpless jokes!
This month I bought a Mossberg shotgun. On the first of the month I will buy the last one on my wish list.
No problem, and I am strongly considering buying a second one next week...one with a red dot, and I’ll put a mag scope on the second so I can be versatile. These days, it is the best way to invest $1000.
If you decide to buy, make sure you buy all the magazines that you can along with sufficient ammo...neither are going to be cheaper, and some may not even be available.
Stag Arms Model 3. Put a relfex sight on it and waiting for a chance to head to the range.
Any NY NRA members here who could give me an update on how Heller is being applied to strike down the socialist gun laws we have here? Can I get one at an out of state gun show, if I only have a NY ID?
What is a red-dot scope? I have a set of NVG’s on order and I didn’t get the red-dot kit because it would be an extra $750 (I opted to spend the cash on a newer-gen model instead).
I figure that if a burglar comes after us (or if the “diversity” decides to riot in a week) they’ll come at us at night, so I intend to take away that advantage.
Drooling.....
Full slobber mode....
