What is a red-dot scope? I have a set of NVG’s on order and I didn’t get the red-dot kit because it would be an extra $750 (I opted to spend the cash on a newer-gen model instead).

I figure that if a burglar comes after us (or if the “diversity” decides to riot in a week) they’ll come at us at night, so I intend to take away that advantage.

This is current standard issue on a lot of AR-pattern rifles in the US military. At typical engagement ranges, it is quicker to pick up and get on target than iron sights. They are stunningly fast for acquisition and since they’re intended to be used with both eyes open, keep your situational awareness intact.

It basically takes the “videogame” idea of the laser sight and changes it into something the enemy can’t see and that doesn’t point back to you. It won’t replace a sniper scope above 300 meters, but at under that it’s hell on wheels for the target.

Also, I’ve got one on a Saiga-12 (Kalashnikov-based 12 gauge shotgun) with a tac light and 10 round mags. Very fast acquisition, massive improvement on the iron sights.

Remember, while lights can be a target, they can also be an additional weapon.
