RNC to File FEC Complaint on Obama Fundraising Practices
washingtonpost.com ^ | 10/05/08 | Matthew Mosk

A lawyer for the Republican National Committee today said the party will ask the Federal Election Commission to look into the source of thousands of small-dollar contributions to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

The RNC is alleging that the Obama campaign was so hungry for donations it "looked the other way" as contributions piled up from suspicious, and possibly even illegal foreign donors.

"We believe that the American people should know first and foremost if foreign money is pouring into a presidential election," said RNC Chief Counsel Sean Cairncross.

Cairncross alleged there was mounting evidence of this, and cited an Oct. 4 report in Newsweek that documents a handful of instances where donors made repeated small donations using fake names, such as "Good Will" and "Doodad Pro."

The point behind bringing it up now is to make THE ONE spend the last month of the election defending his negatives. I believe McCain truly does want to win this election, otherwise he would have picked Lieberman as his running mate. They’d have had fun together on the campaign trail and might have made a somewhat decent showing, however, THAT would have been a half-hearted move. He knew he would energize the covervatives with Gov. Palin, though I doubt even HE know how much.

But, as I said, by Gov. Palin bringing up the Ayers connection, by the RNC filing suit to look into Obama’s campaign contributions, etc ... they’re making him focus on those negatives. Similar to how they made him spend time defending his lack of experience against Gov. Palin’s executive experience.

There are FEC laws that carry jail time (like intimidation).

Are there any FEC laws for accepting illegal contributions that involve jail time? I mean, that’s the subject here.

If there are, then I was wrong.

This was on Hillbuzz....

http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com/

According to ABC’s Jack Tapper, McCain will spend the next two weeks hitting SoetorObama’s slimey associations with Tony Rezko, William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, James Meeks, Emile Jones, and others.

We think that’s only half the story.

People in Chicago insist “that’s not enough, people have already heard about all this”, and that’s partly true. We in Chicago have been hearing about these characters for years, but the MSM has protected SoetorObama from the full brunt of any of these connections — when some of this came up during the primaies against Hillary Clinton, the Kool-Aid was more potent, and the public’s attention to all of this was nil. Also, Clinton could never drive any of this home, her hands tied by the party, and she personally wary of annihilating SoetorObama and risk alienating his followers (whom she would need to win). McCain has no such constraints.

But the timing on all of this is off. Just think about it.

We have 4 weeks until the election. Hitting hard on SoetorObama’s associations now, as Tapper suggests, gives SoetorObama time to recover before the election — which is a bad move on McCain’s part.

That means there has to be another punch coming after this, one that will take us through the last two weeks of the campaign, right up until election day.

First comes two weeks of pounding SoetorObama on every anti-American or corrupt connection he has, highlighting every criminal, terrorist, or dirty Chicago political figure he’s ever been in bed with (metaphorically, if they don’t want to go there literally).

Then, the closing punches will paint SoetorObama as anti-American himself — we believe this will involved SoetorObama’s remarks while campaigning for his cousin Odinga in Kenya in 2006, his anti-Israel remarks to Palestinians in Chicago in 1999, and his wife Michelle’s rantings and ravings against the Clinton Administration in 2004 (where she accused the former president of killing millions of black people in Africa, either by not stopping tribal bloodshed or by the Clinton Foundation handing out a bad AIDS vaccine (both of which are more crazy conspiracies straight out of Jeremiah Wright’s den of delusion)).

SoetorObama supporters here in Chicago talk about these “three punches” that are coming their way — and the counter to them, we’ve been told, is SoetorObama accusing McCain of beating his first wife Carol (the same tactic SoetorObama used against Blair Hull in 2004 — just accuse your opponent of wife-beating, whether it is true or not).

That’s what we think will happen: systematically tying SoetorObama to Anti-American associates, then making voters see him as Anti-American himself.

We also believe a third sword of Damocles hovers - in the form of Republican brilliance, something we’ve never thought of, in our two years of following SoetorObama. Something that has nothing to do with Wright, Michelle, Ayers, Rezko, or anyone we’re familiar with. A true October surprise, even to us, that - if it is planned - will hit about 14 days before the election. We saw in 2004 and 2000 that anything dropped the last week of the election has minimal effect on the outcome — it’s not enough time to take root. So, the Republicans would drop their last surprise two weeks out to own the news cycle in that final stretch.

So, Eeyores, keep all this in mind. The MSM will work hard for SoetorObama, as they’ve invested everythnig in him, including all of their credibility. They are doing everything possible to keep him aloft, as Team McCain does all it can to add lead to his sagging balloon. That’s the dynamic we’re in.

We believe that Hindenburg crashes on November 4th — and something tells us it will be SoetorObama’s own words (or Michelle’s), that brings that sucker down.

Current Obama campaign contribution facts:

Coded contributions: $165,000,223 (70%)
Uncoded contributions: $71,144,336 (30%)
Total contributions: $236,144,559

So basically 30% of Obama contributions cannot be indentified as who they came from, what is their occupation, or who is the employer. Over 70 million dollars.

Who’s WE?

Republicans = The stupid party

Democrat = Evil party

Thank God, I'm a Conservative first, then a republican

Gee, up until 2006, the GOP had Congress locked up, both House and Senate, won the POTUS twice and managed somehow to loss all of Congress, spend taxpayer money like drunken democrats on crack and gave our country over to a bunch of socialist and Marxist

Yup that's stupid

That’s what I had been saying throughout this excrutiating campaign. I’m pretty certain that the powder was wisely kept dry, but it remained dry as the ship’s back was broken and she sunk.

a bit late eh?

Just a little bit. FEC will say Obama has no legal obligation to disclose because the donations are under $200. I understand McCain is clean on this issue because he discloses all amounts online.

‘Good Will,’ or HKVKV, K VKN K V from the city of KHVKHVHKVHKV.

“Good Will” of Austin, Texas, gave more than $11,000 to Obama. “Doodad Pro” of Nunda, N.Y. gave even more: $17,130. Another individual, HDUSAHFD, DAHSUDHU, gave $7,597.59 in July and August of this year.

Interesting about these donors is that they:

1. Aren’t real people - well, their names are fake

2. Have donated much more than the limit of $2,300

As if the above is not enough, the Obama campaign has also been supported by foreigners living in the Middle East. These Middle Easterners have donated hundreds of thousands, probably more, to the Obama campaign. There is one problem if one wants to find out how much exactly (some estimage we’re talking about many millions here): the Obama campaign is not willing to release information about individuals who donated less than $200 (per donation).

Apologies if this has been posted, but I thought it was worth a refresher given the RNC’s recent request for a FEC investigation into Obama’s fundraising.
