"...Democratic senators led by Charles E. Schumer of New York is appealing to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to block a set of contentious no-bid oil contracts that Iraq has decided to award to the Western oil giants Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP." Chucky, I realize you haven't been paying attention but Iraq is a sovereign nation and can award contracts to whomever they want.

Who should get big oil contracts if not big oil companies? Ben & Jerry’s?

Democrats want to force us to give up our SUVS, live without air-conditioning, get laid-off our jobs and ride public transportation.
Democrats are attempting to force lifestyle changes upon a reluctant public.

Chucky has this idea that Iraq is a colony. At the same time he doesn't want America to have more oil.
The real question here is why the State of New York allowed its public education system to fall into such disarray for so long.
Gad!

They were just yelling about how the Iraqi weren’t paying their own way with their oil but when they try to do so with some help they get this crap from this congress.

Blackmail?
nah, they wouldn't do that -
However, one does have to wonder why peeelosi and gang are always making trips to places like IRAN and SYRIA - what back door deals might there be?

It was the Democrats in Congress who voted for the Iraq War because they wanted Iraqi-oil, now they are determined to assert that claim, even if it means overruling the Iraqi’s government. After all it would never do for anyone other than a Democratic politician to make decisions.

After the billions of dollars we spent in Iraq, God forbid that American companies could get any type of advantage! I wish for once Democrats think a little bit more about America and less about our competitors and our outright enemies (giving them rights that are not in our Constitution)!
To: tobyhill
Of course they do! What's bad for America is good for the Democrats.

Simple, they don’t want us to have more oil and they don’t want the Iraqis to be able to produce their own oil. They want a failed state in Iraq and the US because that is their only way to get elected.

Most of the elitist leftists are not satisfied with living the best possible lifestyle available in the world,
they want to have a much higher lifestyle than the “commoners”.
The best way that they can do that, from their positions of power, is to reduce everyone else’s lifestyle so that they can look down their noses at us even more.

dems want to make us suffer at the pump. They hope they can destroy the economy just enough to fool people into voting for change and stick us with obama.

Not to mention the fact that only one of those companies is American. Does Schumer really need to be upset that Iraq cut some oil deals with countries in Europe?
To: tobyhill
When the oil $$$ starts flowing to the people of Iraq, they won’t want to fight so much...............that’s what he wants to stop.............
