With a billion muslims, 10-25% radical they DO have the numbers. But they can't afford to keep them in explosive vests. Expecially, if you subtract out the Indonesian and Indian Muslims from the mix. The Arab world could quickly collapse if they send 20% of their adult males to be slaughtered.
I don't hear much about every day Iranians fighting the Jihad, so you might be able to subtract out the Persians too.
If only the Indians didn't divide the Chinese and Muslims, we could instigate something.

I don’t think he article said there were 600 casualties, only that they set up positions in the area. There were at least 100 casualties though, and the Taliban who were involved have been drive back. Hopefully, as another FReeper expressed, they had rousing cheering crowds (Of NATO forces in ambushes or blocking positions) waiting for them during their retreat.

100 casualties is not bad, either. The Taliban can posture, but they can't control the country.

In Afghanistan, spring cleaning means rooting out Taliban goons from the towns and villages.
Nice work!!

The governor estimated more than 100 Taliban fighters were killed in the onslaught, and said the bodies of many more had been dumped in a ditch elsewhere. ...in a valley known locally for the quality of its grapes, pomegranates and hashish.
Cheap fertilizer for the next growing season.

Hopefully a lot more of those that escaped the prison along with their brethren will see the same ending as the NATO and Afghanistan forces continue the operation to rid this area of the Taliban.

Looks like Afghanistan *is* a quagmire, or rather, an al-quagmire.

Our troops in Afghanistan prove they've retained their sense of humor with the following: 'YOU MAY BE A TALIBAN MEMBER IF...' 1. You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to beer. 2. You own a $3,000 machine gun and $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can't afford shoes. 3. You have more wives than teeth. 4. You wipe your butt with your bare left hand, but consider bacon 'unclean.' 5. You think vests come in two styles: bullet-proof and suicide. 6. You can't think of anyone you HAVEN'T declared Jihad against. 7. You consider television dangerous, but routinely carry explosives in your clothing. 8. You were amazed to discover that cell phones have uses other than setting off roadside bombs. 9. You've often uttered the phrase, 'I love what you've done with your cave.' 10. You have nothing against women and think every man should own at least one. 11. You bathe at least monthly whether necessary or not. 12. You have a crush on your neighbor's goat.

Heh, heh heh. Wonder if they still consider freedom better than prison.

They certainly can afford to keep them in explosive vests. Lots of oil money goes to support jihad.

They certainly can afford to keep them in explosive vests. Lots of oil money goes to support jihad. The lot's of oil money still leaves them very poor countries. The entire Gulf's GDP is dwarfed by Australia's.
