Wait. Whose side are we on again?

Now that foreign terrorist suspects have the right to habeas corpus, maybe U.S. Marines will be extended the courtesy of a trial before being smeared as cold-blooded murders.

A surprising number of Americans are eager to believe the worst about our fighting men and women. In the case of the infamous Haditha "massacre," their motives are transparently political, ugly and deceitful.

The Haditha story — reminiscent of some twisted Oliver Stone fantasy — was first reported by Time magazine. According to reports, Marines were allegedly involved in a firefight on Nov. 19, 2005, murdering 24 civilians in retribution for a roadside bombing that killed a fellow Marine.

For power-hungry Pennsylvania congressman John Murtha, the tide of negative public opinion on Iraq made Haditha the perfect self-serving political opportunity. After all, other than being the focus of corruption investigations, Murtha had never been bequeathed such extravagant attention. And when Murtha, a former Marine, spoke about Haditha, he spoke with certitude — and the national headlines mirrored it.

That SOB better not be able to hide behind the speech and debate shield. Bastard needs to have his ass kicked. Once a Marine always a Marine. In Murtha’s case, he doesn’t deserve the title anymore.

our leftist Demagogues always care more about jihad terrorists than about our own troops - that’s one of the defining characteristics of vicious Demagogues.....

Murtha should be in prison for what he did to those Marines.

The Colonel is going to sue Murtha. I wonder if he will even be able to do that? Wasn’t this tried already by another one of the soldiers?

There were multiple lawsuits filed against Murtha last year

What we need, however, is EVERYONE to call their representative and tell them that the Hamdania incident, the Pendleton 8, was filled with undue command influence, also

Colonels telling the accused that they need to immediately plea out to the chargte, while they were all in the brig, and the Col was talking to them, and NOT ONE LAWYER was around, and that if they didn’t they would go to jail for life...

I believe that while all soldiers are not Marines, all marines are soldiers.

From worldnet Princeton.edu

an enlisted man or woman who serves in an army;

"the soldiers stood at attention"

serve as a soldier in the military

BTW, I am not trying to minimize Marines in any way. I am a vet myself although not a Marine.

The publicity surrounding the filing of the charges has revived the ‘baby burner’ myth that originated during the war in Vietnam. Once a liberal gets an image in his/her head, it will never be dislodged by facts or reason, but becomes a mantra that fuels their mindless hysteria.

I KNOW the Marine Corps is not the Army. I specifically posted the definition of “soldier” to show that the entire military are considered to be staffed by “soldiers”

Yo Lex, give it up, bro. We Marines do not give in. Your rationalizations are wasted on our ears. We are Marines, NOT soldiers, PERIOD.

Murtha’s running for the title of EX-Marine. There aren’t very many of them.
