Wow
Sorry to be so long responding to this.
Thank you for the well reasoned information.
Hence why many feel that the Magna Carter itself took certain rights away.
The UN should cram it up their jolly old ass, says Silverback.
When the chips were down the Queen of England had the Royal Guard play the National Anthem of the United States during the changing of the guard. That was an incredible act of unity. I will never forget it.
The U.N. proceded to continue to try to deminish the power of the United States by any and all means possible.
Tell you what, I wish the world would do away with the U.N. The Queen is alright by me. Long may she live.
The UN Human Rights Council said the UK must "consider holding a referendum on the desirability or otherwise of a written constitution, preferably republican". The council has 29 members including Saudi Arabia, Cuba and Sri Lanka. Some jokes write themselves.
Out of all of the monarchies in the world, why do they pick on England’s?
<Syrian representatives accused the UK of discriminating against Muslims and Iran complained about the UKs record on tackling sexual discrimination. >
Aw shucks, now we all know that these Syrians and Iranians just carry on about these matters and giggle while they do it. It’s their perverse sense of humor. It’s also how they aggravate other nations to start a fight.
The best revenge is to start Arab and Farsi language radio stations that broadcast the truth about western culture and life. Then watch the spittle fly!
Next thing you know, they'll want us to get rid of our Messiah.
On second thought..........
Leni
And rightfully so.
Yes, but Maggie would have done it in a lady like way. Much more effective to slice and dice someone while remaining a lady. And Maggie was a pro.
The UN has never won a war, so who the heck cares what they say?
Actually...it does. And if you don't approve, it may invoke Chapter VII on you.
Of all the Monarchies and Dictators in the world, they picked on England’s Monarchy?
For example, lets look at the issue of civil rights. For the most part, the UK (and Australia, for that matter) is among the freest nations on Earth, with a wide variety of rights guaranteed under common law (part of the unwritten constitution). Its not perfect (gun rights being a commonly cited example of this) but it is pretty good. Would seeking to write down these rights improve matters - or simply fix in place current prejudices for all time?
The lefties are trying to get around that in Australia by passing a so-called Bill of Rights. Thank goodness there are still people of good sense here who are willing to stand up against it. I'd hate for us to end up like Canada or the U.K. with their ridiculous "human rights" judgments whose effect is exactly the opposite - the curtailment of rights.
******The collapse of Christianity has wrecked British society, a leading Church of England bishop declared yesterday.
It has destroyed family life and left the country defenceless against the rise of radical Islam in a moral and spiritual vacuum.*****
Too late to matter!
Prince Charles’ embrace of Islam is setting the stage for his own demise and that of England as a Christian sovereign nation.
As an American that has been deeply pro-British (pro-Churchill, pro-Thatcher, pro-the real Britain and not the red-diaper bolshies and mohammedans), I hope the real people of Britain, the regular folks, tell the U-effing-N very loudly the British version of “go kiss our Dixie tailpipes, you bunch of low-down carpetbaggers!”
If the UN had done this when Lady Margaret Thatcher was P.M., that wonderful Iron Lady would have given them the British equivalent of the Bronx Cheer and the one-fingered salute!
Well, the current royal family is turning out to be a disaster: Nazi sympathizing, adultery (with ugly women to boot), ecstasy parties with Britney Spears, running around naked at school, having some fag in a garish costume sing a gay song that was originally written for a drug addled whore at one of their funerals. I think they should repeal the Act of Settlement and give the Jacobites a shot!
Such a recommendation would make alot more sense toward a real monarchy, than toward one which is merely symbolic. In reality, Great Britain is a Parliamentary Democracy.
