These people in Manhattan play around until one day they wake up at 50, herpes ridden, single, and gotta wonder what the hell they did it all for.
I always laugh at the commercials for these drugs. They show two fairly attractive people, supposedly in love, and then the reveal: one or both have a social disease, but they are very careful not to pass it on to the loved one!
Well, where did they get it? How many “loved ones” were there before this one?
How many other men’s dirty dishes did he eat off before presenting his dirty dish to the “new love”???
Let’s say you find someone you love. They have herpes. They had 1 or 2 boyfriends before you and one of them had it. Let’s say they kept it strictly to kissing and making out but they still got it. So when you get it, does that make you promiscuous, or are you being too resumptive in your rhetoric?
This isn’t HIV with a narrow transmission vector. This is a easily communicable virus attested to by it’s cousin being found in a large majority of Americans.
I gave my sons that advice. They're both married to disease free young women. Of course, neither of these young women gave it away for free either. They're wonderful. They were brought up to respect themselves and their future mates.

One single is a head chef at a major resort in Hawaii... 3 CPAs, 3 IT, 1 nurse who's also a Second Lieutenant in the Army stationed at Walter Reed, her twin will be interning in China for a year beginning in July (college major: economics/Chinese), 1 Executive Head Hunter, 2 college students, and 1 will be a senior in high school next year. And, by the way, all of the spouses are professionals too... special ed teacher, pediatric nurse practitioner, 2 physicians assistants, and an Executive Head Hunter with an MBA who is married to the other Executive Head Hunter.
All of them have been oversees on exchange and/or travel.

You are confusing genital herpes with cold sores. I’ve read that 65% of Americans have the herpes virus (the kind that causes cold sores or genital - they can be interchanged), but not everyone has outward symptoms.

Cold sores are HSVI and genital herpes are HSVII. Interesting fact, they don’t always afflict their proper areas.
I wish I had a way to edit the post to be clearer. There is HSVI and HSVII. Generally HSVI is facial with HSVII being genital. But it’s not always the case.
