If people are best judged by the company they keep, then Barack Obama has got some explaining to do.

There's his long-term relationships with extremist preachers like Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger. And his association with '60s radical terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

And then there's his links with Tony Rezko - the Chicago political power broker who faces up to 20 years in prison after his conviction last week on 16 counts of wire fraud, mail fraud, money-laundering and soliciting bribes.

Rezko was found guilty of corrupting two state boards as part of a scheme in which he collected millions in kickbacks from companies seeking government contracts. Rezko, prosecutors charged, was "the man behind the curtain, pulling the strings."

The Obama-Rezko ties aren't ideological - they're just old-fashioned Chicago street politics at work.

Over the years, Rezko has raised as much as a quarter of a million dollars for Obama's political campaigns.

All in all, Obama apparently was one of the few people in Chicago who was blind to the fact that Tony Rezko was a key political-influence peddler.

Just as he was about the only person in Trinity United Church who missed every one of Jeremiah Wright's regular militant anti-American sermons.

No wonder Obama's reaction to Wednesday's jury verdict was, "This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew" - just as he maintained that Wright's now-infamous diatribe was "not the person I met 20 years ago."

All of which makes us wonder: What did Barack Obama really know?

And when did he really know it?

He can be intimately involved with a guy like Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, have him do his wedding, baptize his children, go to his church and hear him preach for 20 years, and still manage “not to know” the guy.

Fill in the blanks here of the rest of the Obama spiritual adviser/close buddies, who are going to be exposed as race-hate, America-hating, antisemitic lunatics in the coming months, and Obama is gong to give the same old dishonest stock answer he's been giving : “This isn't the -—————— I knew”

I saw Michael Medved speak last week and his opinion is that the way to beat Obama is to point out that he wants to 1) raise taxes and increase the size and scope of the federal government, and 2) cut the military and retreat from our enemies. Mr. Medved’s point is that if we choose to make the campaign about Obama’s associations and past then we will fail to inspire the electorate to vote for McCain. I think Mr. Medved makes a good point although I think we should do both, that is talk about taxes and defense but also remind people of Obama’s unsavory associations.

What is the most annoying to me tho is our so and so blasted media...if they were doing their job instead of covering Hussein's backside, this would be all over their evening news...you can sure bet if it was a Conservative or a RINO even..it would be drummed out onto the airwaves 24/7.
