The sad secret of the modern nation of Israel it that the leadership doesn’t want anything to do with the Temple Mount, indeed, they appear to not want anything to do with the religious beliefs of their forefathers at all.
No, instead these leaders want very badly to be just like all other secular world leaders. If God exists, and if He really gave the Law to Moses and if the Temple is really supposed to be on that Mount, then they would have additional responsibilities and duties in their own lives, things they very much don’t appear to care for.
Moreover, they act as if they believe that borders and religions are what cause the tensions between peoples. Instead of a Two State “solution”, they are now working on a No-State solution, where all peoples of the area would be citizens in common, even to the extent that nobody would need a passport to arrive in Jerusalem from elsewhere.
It starts with making the area one be trade zone.
(Just google “Israel Free Trade Zone”)
It ends with Jerusalem being decared and international city, maybe under the UN, maybe under another NGO.
Now, of course, God will have His say, in His good time about all this, for there are many things that must and will come to pass that are listed in the Prophets and Revelation.
When exactly that will be, nobody can know, except that the storm clouds are clearly gathering. That the modern nation of Israel even exists is proof of that, for all these scriptures depend upon that fact.

Question Please: How do we know the Temple Mount was where the Second Temple was located? I cannot seem to find any writings or maps that state where the Temple was located within the Holy City.
According to writings of the last conquest and the destruction of the Second Temple there were defensive walls around the city and also the Temple, the Roman General said it was enclosed by an inner bulwark. And further stated by Tacitus “The Temple was like a citadel and had its own walls, which had been more laboriously and skillfully constructed than the rest....To these advantages must be added a spring of never-failing water...” Also there had to be running water at the site where the animals were sacrificed as they had to be have their blood completely drained so there had to be water to wash the blood away. Especially with the number that were sacrificed on some days and week of 200 + per day or more. Water was available at a lower level that the present Temple Mount so how did they pump it up to that level to wash away the blood?
Or was the Temple at the lower level, and the Palace called Antonia on the mount?
The two mosques on the Temple Mount are an affront to every Jew and Christian in thw world. They are like two hemorrhoids which must be excised. God willing one day they shall be.

Excuse! The story is that Muhammad once journeyed to Jerusalem - therefore it is a holy place to Muslims. It doesn’t seem to matter to them that the so called “journey” took place in a dream and was merely a figment of Muhammad’s imagination.
The Jews had their chance in 1967 when they retook Jerusalem neighborhoods and the Temple Mount. That was when the Muslims eyesores should have been dynamited and bulldozed.Islam obliterated from the Temple Mount
