It is a damn poor mind indeed which can’t think of at least two ways to spell any word. - - Andrew Jackson

“Spelling Reform” - isn’t that just what educrats are trying to get away with in the publik skools?

Students can spel as they want, so nobody feels that they have failed.

“Mixingly of adverb and adjective with verb become noun, I hold no object to a regimen of consistently regularized spelling. Object, do I, to those spellings which are zealous defying reasonable attempts to write them soundingly.”

May I ask which dressing you prefer on your word salads?

Ghoti ping.
They are the leaders of the spelling-reform movement, a passionate but sporadic 800-year-old campaign to simplify English orthography. In its long and failure-ridden history, the movement has tried to convince an indifferent public of the need for a spelling system based on pronunciation.
How would Jack Kennedy spell "Caribbean" or "Laos"? How would Jerry Ford spell "judgment"? How would British readers spell "Shakespeare was a woman"? ;')

Considering my first initial is ‘C’ I would disagree...with gas hovering at $4.00/gal, I cannot afford to have all my personalized items re-monogrammed. Unfortunately, I didn’t choose to go into community organizing or minority outreach in urban Chicago so I have to subsist on a Windows administrators salary. :(

Their campaign is working. I’ve even caught editorials in major newspapers misusing “loose” for “lose.”

You see it everywhere. I’ve given up on correcting them.
