THE 35 BEST SHOWS ON TV--EVER
New York Post ^ | April 27, 2008 | ROBERT RORKE AND STEPHEN LYNCH

Our parents told us TV would melt our brains. While it's possible "Punky Brewster" and "A-Team" did just that, along the way we saw some genius art. Television can't play 90 minutes on the big screen and vanish into the bargain bin. And it lacks one author to take it from introduction to the final page. Yet within these boundaries, there are a small number of shows that capture our attention, our obsession, and create enduring stories. How many? 35. They're listed here.

It's still the weekend.

No Batman? No Married...with Children? At least Miami Vice made it.

Not bad, but Frasier and South Park should have made the list, IMHO. Oprah shouldn’t have, her show is mindless crap for women who have way too much time on their hands.

Good call on Frasier. I agree with South Park but the absence doesn’t surprise me. Those could be the lone TV shows I have watched on a regular basis in the last 10 years.

The authors of this article have an opinion, but it’s not worth very much.

The best TV show ever was “I, Claudius”, the 1976 mini-series.

Sopranos number 1? Looking back to that show and I feel cheated by the crappy scripts, lame plots and moronic acting. Thank God its fiction.
