Prince William's lands RAF helicopter in Kate's back garden
Daily Mail ^ | 20th April 2008 | REBECCA ENGLISH

Posted on 04/21/2008 6:47:39 AM PDT by ryan71

Last week it emerged that after getting his much-coveted wings William flew a Chinook to London and landed at Woolwich, where he picked up his brother and fellow army officer Harry.

They then flew to the Isle of Wight where their cousin Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, was enjoying a weekend-long stag party.

The flight enabled them to spend an extra five hours touring the pubs of Cowes where at one point rowdy revellers pulled down William's trousers.

Eyewitness also claimed the two princes dared girls in one pub to bare their breasts and partied into the early hours with a number of attractive young woman including a local lap dancer named Gigi La Chance.

The RAF insisted the jaunt was "legitimate training" by teaching the prince to fly over water, but MPs demanded to know why the young royals were allowed to use the Chinook aircraft as a "stag do taxi service".

At least it wasn’t a White House staffer flying Marine Corp One to a golf course to play a round....

I’m sure they’ll catch hell for it but the govt sometimes gives it’s young pilots expensive machines to play with on the weekend. It’s called cross country training. I’m guessing the rules will change now.

Given the history of British princes, this is pretty mild behavior.

Between these kind of "Jack the lad" antics which the male punters will love, William's appeal to the ladies, and Harry's military service, the princes are insuring the continued existence of the monarchy for another generation.

And the British taxpayers picked up the tab for his little weekend romp. I wonder if he observed the 12 hour “bottle to throttle” rule that weekend. I doubt it.

Sheesh, give them some slack. As Franklin might have said: "a monarchy, if you can keep it".

Prince William's '£30K stunt' as he lands RAF helicopter in Kate's back garden

OK, that explains the apostrophe.

Heh ... I'll bet a helicopter isn't the only thing he wants to land in Kate's "garden" ...

So to speak.

Prince Phillip should just write out a check. His sons deserve this, but I do agree the taxpayers should not pick up the tab. Prince Phillip writing a check for 30K pounds is chump change.

I remember a US Army “emergency” UH-60 flight to retrieve maintenance parts from a specific location, which was also the site of a U2 concert ;)

. . . . "MPs demanded to know why the young royals were allowed to use the Chinook aircraft as a "stag do taxi service"

I tend to agree with the MPs. Why should the British (over)taxedpayers have to foot the bill for William's stag party joyride? If he wants to fly a helo to party, he can rent one at his own expense - NOT the taxpayers. That's NOT what those military choppers are for!!

I always make it a point to have several belts before getting into a helo. Helps me forget all those thousands of moving parts, all conspiring to kill me.

;o)

His main squeeze's family is apparently no slouch in the bank account department, if this thing will fit comfortably in her "back yard".

My guess is she prolly doesn't have to mow the grass on Saturdays ...
