So far, all I've seen in this process is corruption, and more corruption, we have all this campaign finance law yet the election is stolen by "thuggery" long before the election begins, from insane caucuses, to delegates who vote against the peoples will, to back room deals ordering delegates to vote for a competitor as a weapon and on and on it goes. Let's not even mention that the supposed "god" chosen as the candidate could be so chosen before 98% of the Americans have a say in the process, and by liberal states no less. So I pose this question to you.
Why do we have these at all in this modern era?
Let 10, 20 folks (who cares how many) run for president in each party, we hold know primary's, we show up on election day and vote for the candidate we like.
This would unwind the corrupt process that we have today.
Well, a good start would be a national primary day - in June - and a ban on campaigning until three weeks before the election, like the British have. That won’t be enough to end the corruption, but at least we won’t have to listen to so much of it. ;)
“Primaries”
Primaries are creatures of the modern era.
What you're suggesting sounds like the election process in Italy ... not the best model for sound government.
I like the caucus and primarys, except they should swithc to allow voting UNTIL someone reaches a majority.
That way if there are 2 conservatives and one liberal the liberal will not win with only 34% of the vote when when 66% (33%each) voted against him.
The lowest score drops out and you vote again. until SOMOENE achieves over 50%.
McCain and Huckabee employed the Clinton strategy of splitting the opposition this way.
I think you mean, "we hold know primaries".
I'm a stickler for well English.
I feel the same way about apostrophe’s.
Or you guys could do it like we do up here, although your system would have to be slightly different.
Say you have each state party hold a presidential convention on one day, every state the same day, each party sends representatives to the state convention. The state convention then votes and divides its delegates according to each candidate’s vote totals.
Then each state’s delegates meet at the national convention to choose the presidential candidate going into the next election.
yes “no” - get it ;)
My solution would be to arrange the primaries in the order the state provided support for the Republicans in the last presidential election. States like MA and NY, both of which have many delegate but never provide any Republican electors to the electoral college, would have their primaries late in the season.
Sometimes there is no need for apostrophes. This is one of those times.
Simple for both primary and general you do it on one day.
All poles open at the same time and close at the same time 24 hours later.
No exit poll reporting allowed until poles are closed.
Limit campaign time as well.
“I’m a stickler for well English.”
You am good at grammar
Now everyone is complaining about primaries. Nobody was complaining when *their* candidate was winning.
All primaries should be on the same day! To hell with this strung out crap that allows liberals voters to cross over party lines and vote for the least conservative candidate so the damn biased media gets momentum for a candidate no conservative wants!
National primary day.
I like the idea of a national primary day. We do need primaries since we still have (thank GOD) the elctoral college.
