You need to read post #6 to get the supposed quote in it’s true context before you make a judgement.

Not a bad choice of words. Read the whole Q & A. as posted here below.

Merely a selective exploitation by CNN. If you and others are going to take what CNN says as gospel, God help this country.

As a matter of fact, I do not think that George Washington WANTED to be Pres. in a power hungry sort of way. He was qualified; he was needed; he served.

Frankly, this whold political PROCESS disgusts me. I read Mitt Romney has spend $79 mil. That is obscene as this is only the primary.

The fact Fred is in the race shows he wants to serve. He is who he is and he is comfortable with that. Whether or not he can get elected without the hype and MSM attn. remains to be seen. <,p>I see Fred and Duncan Hunter as the best candidates and CNN is not going to change that for me because I am onto them.

Pray for Fred?

I like Fred. But God helps those who helps themselves. And why would God help Fred and not a baptist minister? Why wouldn't God just let the elction play out until there is a true choice between good and evil. ie Any Republican vs. Hillary.

It’s a bad choice of words only because it lends itself to the MSM propaganda machine, IMHO. It’s so easily taken out of context.

“I’m not particularly interested in running for president,” Thompson said, but rather he feels called to serve his country."

GO FRED!

Fred’s choice of words raises his credibility with me. Fred’s honesty trumps the usual sound bite from power hungry empty suits. Kudos to Fred and my FReeper friends who support him.

" But God helps those who helps themselves "
I am sorry to disappoint you, but, that statement in not in the Bible or scripture, it's a saying that the worldly has created.....

If you study the Bible , GOD is continually trying to humble us and get us from our self reliance and put our trust and dependence in him.
It is prideful to think that we can make it with out the help of GOD and do thing on our own.
GOD helps those who depend on him.

Read post 6 so that you can understand the context of what was said.

This is a very common MSM tactic. Take a portion of a sentence or statement and present it completely out of context.

The Democrats know how to run against conventional candidates. They have been doing opposition research on the Republican field for years, just waiting to sling whatever mud they have found. Huck is new to the scene, but his dirt is easy to find — especially with Hillary’s network in Arkansas.

Fred bothers them. Really bothers them. First the MSM ignored Fred, now they are going into smear mode. Luckily, being regarded as a contender is good for Fred, since it focuses the spotlight on him.

The MSM wants Huck bad. Fred is their worst nightmare. Can you imagine Fred standing next to Edwards talking about foreign policy? Or next to Hillary, 5 years his junior?
Obama would simply melt.

IMHO

These statements should get Fred a lot of media attention. I hope voters will read them in context.
