If I remember my U.S. history correctly, Mr. George Washington was not too fond of the idea of being POTUS either. Not comparing Fred to Washington, but good leaders are sometimes called to the position by their peers.

He is blinded by the deceptions that Romney is spewing. Either that, or he is a closet liberal trying to disrupt

I’m sure he’s not interested in all the carp that the candidates are expected to go through when running. That’s why he’s doing it, for the most part, the way he wants to do it. He’s putting his ideas out there for folks to think about and chew on, and if they take a look at all the other candidates, he will look all the better by comparison.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. I’ve always been a little more laid back than most. I like to say I’m only consumed by very few things, and politics is not one of them. The welfare of my country, and my kids and grandkids, growing up, is one of them. (applause)

Excellent points!

I would not want the job to go to someone who wanted it on a silver platter, without having to work for it. Such a person might shrink if things ever got really tough.

Fred has never said, or even intimated that he wanted the job handed to him. He just doesn't particularly care for a lot of the phoniness that comes with modern political campaigning. He said he was interested in the welfare of this country. I'd much prefer someone with that attitude than someone who was looking for some sort of self-gratification by being President. The person wanting for the office for himself, is the person more likely to shrink from the hard things.

Fred, if you don't like the modern form of presidential campaigning, why did you finally tip-toe in?

Because he looked at the field, and saw it wanting.

And why would God help Fred and not a baptist minister?

I'm sure God will help all who call on Him, be they a preacher, or not. And just because someone is a Baptist minister, it doesn't mean he's the best person to run the country.

Fred has never said he didn’t WANT to be President, just that he didn’t want to do the gyrations supposedly required by the media and political wonks for modern campaigns. He’d like for the campaigns to focus on substance, not fluff. I like that.

As Fred said in his response, modern technology is great, because it allows him to get his message directly to voters without the biased filter of the MSM.

Well, yeah, it'd be nice if one didn't have to do any real work to gain the presidency -- but that just isn't the case.

Fred has never said he didn't want to work for the Presidency. He knows what should be done, but he doesn't want to play the silly games that pass for a Presidential campaign these days. I don't blame him.

I don't pay attention to the silliness. I just want to know where the candidates stand on the issues, and what their ideas are for the future prosperity and security of this country.
