"Just Say No" to big government.

Posted on 10/22/2007 6:54:05 PM PDT by cradle of freedom

What if there was a "just say no" movement on the part of conservative communities to REFUSE federal handouts? What if we just went back to the way it was before? What if we just say thanks but no thanks. Time was all towns lived within their means and just spent what they could afford. Why don't we go back to that?

That’s why homeschooling is fundamentally conservative.

There's already a similar movement. It's called "Just Say No To GOP RINO, Pandering, Lying Turds." ...such as Rudy Giuliani, Mit Romney, and John McCain.

People should do exactly as you say, but they're too used to getting "something" from the powers to be and they're afraid to go back now.

However, it won't get better because there is a large unknown number of us who won't vote for RINOs (such as Rudy McRomney) no matter what, because we believe that people should live within their means, and trust God more than a lying bunch of professional politicians.

In fact, we believe this enough to not vote for the deplorable GOP top picks no matter what. Even knowing that it's creates the potential that Hillary will win the election because of it.

You've got a great idea, and it's one that many still hold to. But too many live in fear of what you write and they're driven by such fear, which is unfortunate because it makes them "steerable" and keeps them enslaved.

I think I sense your frustration is in tune with many of us here. I for one, have become so disenchanted that I am no longer a Republican. Conservative, yes. Republican, no.

The Amish do not participate in social security. The courts force them to “donate,” but they will not accept the “benefits.” Never have. I have always respected them for that.

“Freedom Town” I love it.

I think this could work as a movement in small towns in more conservative and independent minded areas. I hope people spread this idea. Freedom Town is a great name for it. Spread it around in your town and in any forums or organizations you participate in. Let’s start a movement.
