BBC children's TV hosts are either gay or childless and they don't like kids (says BBC host!)
The Daily Mail ^ | 21 Aug, 2007 | LAURA ROBERTS

A BBC children's presenter has said that "everyone at CBBC is either gay or childless and don't like kids".

Kirsten O'Brien, a stalwart of the corporation's programmes for youngsters, made the claim during a stand-up show at the Edinburgh festival.

And she added: "Still, at least we're better than Palestinian children's TV, which gets kids to sing songs about AK-47 rifles."

Miss O'Brien, 35, has been performing Confessions Of A Children's TV Presenter at the festival and is due to return to filming at the BBC in two weeks' time.

Born in Middlesbrough, she now lives in North London with her boyfriend. The couple have no children.

She first worked on CBBC in the Nineties as a general presenter and has gone on to host SMart, SMarteenies, Totally Doctor Who and BBC 7's Little Toe Radio Show.

Last night, the corporation insisted that her remarks about her colleagues had been made in jest.

A spokesman said: "Kirsten's joke is a throwaway line and is clearly meant to be ironic.

"The audience is totally different at the festival because it is for adults.

"We wouldn't check her script if she was doing something separate from the BBC.

"She is due back on air in the autumn and this wouldn't affect that."

However, Miss O'Brien's comment could not have come at a worse time for the corporation.

It is the latest in a series of gaffes by the makers and presenters of BBC children's shows.

Seems like decades ago when the topic of "Should homosexuals be allowed to be school teachers?" was somewhat in vogue. Didn't last long. The media made it seem oh-so-bigoted-and-stupid to block homosexuals from being teachers. I mean, it's not like they were pedophiles! They're just homosexuals! And why shouldn't they teach??

Of course, we now have a situation where kids in kindergarten are taught about anal sex, the homosexual agenda is tops on the curriculum, kids are increasingly sexualized, and ("I was just joking") children's TV hosts are homosexual too.

Personally, I don't think homosexuals should be allowed to serve as authority figures for kids. Not in schools, not in scouting, not in the church, not at summer camp, not at ...

Childless adults? I would believe it.

We watch CBC on channel 9 and TVO on 32 from Windsor. From what I see on the websites for these kids shows and the BBC’s children’s programing, they are run the same way. A couple of hours of “hosts” doing crafts, birthday greetings and introducing cartoons. The hosts are young adults. I suspect that many of them will have children one day.

And how would the show be different if they were? Think about it -- Bert and Ernie, before Bert join Al Queda. Cookie Monster's eating disorder? Elmo tickling fetish. Watch the show critically and you think the muppets have more than a hand up their back sides!

Both Disney and Nickelodeon are dominated by gays. Ever notice how many plot revolve around “tolerance”, “accepting differences”, and “not fitting in”.

I have no problem if a skilled and talented teacher who happened to be homosexual taught my children provided he or she was not radicalized or weaved their political agenda into the classroom.

Do you really think a homosexual who defines themselves by a perverted act is not going to bring it into the classroom?

One nice thing about liberals.. is they rarely have children. Either prefering homosexual relationshiops or childless relationships with the opposite sex.

In another generation or two its just going to be us and the mohammedans(and however many dhimmis the mohammedans can force convert and force to have children).

. . . she now lives in North London with her boyfriend . . .

I don't think shack-ups are any better role models for youth than gays/lesbians are.

You're forgetting about all the illegal aliens and welfare queens who are pumping them out endlessly.

If allowed, yes.

Throughout most of the 20th century (at least till the 80's), my guess would be at least 5 per cent of teachers were gay.

However, at that time, the "closet" wasn't open and it certainly wasn't cool.

I used to watch Pee Wee’s Playhouse as a young adult and knew it wasn’t really for kids.
