I’m still waiting for the Hitler quote. Or is there a minimum number of people that a dictator has to murder before he gets placement on a part of the Department of Education website devoted to kids. This isn’t a generic quote about education being a good thing. It’s actually a quote about the need for Communist indoctrination among Communist Party members. The full quote that the Department of Education cut down comes at the end of an essay on “The Role of the Chinese Communist Party in the National War” “Whoever refuses to study these problems seriously and carefully...

The puppeteer who gave Sesame Street's Elmo his voice allegedly threw a crystal meth sex party for a teenage boy in 2004, according to a federal lawsuit filed this week. Sheldon Stephens, now 24, is the fourth man to sue Kevin Clash, but he was the first one to publicly claim he had a sexual relationship with him as a teen. Stephens' lawsuit is "meritless and barred by the statute of limitations," Clash lawyer Michael Berger told CNN Tuesday. "Mr. Clash continues to deny any wrongdoing, and we intend to defend this case forcefully." (...) "I am a gay man,"...

She has tried the macrobiotic diet, the kale and lemon cleanse and only eating salad for days on end. But now Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted that she has begun inflicting her obsessions with food on her own children - by starving them of carbohydrates. Miss Paltrow, 40, said that that she avoids feeding pasta, bread or rice to Apple, eight, and Moses, six, because it is bad for them, even though they are left ‘craving’ the food. Her decision was based on the fact that everyone in her house - including husband Chris Martin - is supposedly intolerant of gluten,...

Readers — The story below makes me so sad and so angry, and you will see why. If anyone at Child Protective Services or the police department would pick up a single book written before predator panic swept the country, they’d see that 6-year-olds were always part of the neighborhood scene, scampering, playing, or even — in many eras and areas — working! The idea that a 6-year-old can’t be outside without constant supervision is new and warped. It also seriously underestimates kids. Is there a law requiring parents to stunt their children’s curiosity, competence, maturity and independence? I fear...

In 2006, as a Probate and Family Court judge in Boston, I began hearing a case filed by a self-represented woman who requested an order that a sperm facility disclose the identity of the father of her two young daughters. She gave as her primary reason that the children suffered from health issues and needed a complete medical history from their father. As a secondary ground, she cited the children’s need for financial support. After multiple hearings and several trips between the Probate and Family Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the complaint was dismissed in 2011. (The first decision...

“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.” –Mein Kampf, by Adolf Hitler [Publ. We all know what can happen when kids and guns mix. And today I will tell you some stories about that very thing. The kids' names were Kendra and Alyssa, and then there was the 11-year-old boy whose name we just don't know. What we do know is that they lived in places called Bryan County, Albuquerque, and Palmview. We know that guns were in their homes -- and that something horrible befell them. Last year, 12-year-old Oklahoman Kendra St. Clair was home alone, unsupervised. At some point she accessed her mother's handgun -- a .40-caliber Glock. Then Kendra pulled...

First lady Michelle Obama spent about 30 minutes answering calls from children on Monday as part of NORAD’s Santa-tracking program, according to a White House official. The Obamas are in Hawaii for their annual Christmas vacation. The NORAD program, which began in 1955, attracts millions of visitors to its website from hundreds of countries and territories. It's that time of year again. The North American Air Defense Command, or NORAD, is set to track ol' Saint Nick on his yearly journey around the world. All the phone stuff is done by volunteers. Businesses like Microsoft sponsor it, so it's not coming out of the defense budget. Kids love it. Tracking begins at 12:00 midight Mountain Time. Merry Christmas!

The Blog Gregory Mocks LaPierre for Proposing Armed Guards, but Sends Kids to High-Security School 4:58 PM, Dec 23, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER Single Page Print Larger Text Smaller Text Alerts David Gregory mocked the NRA's Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. Recently, I posted a thread on what I consider to be at least one of the causes of Adam Lanza's state of mind when he went into Sandy hills School and killed little children. My suggestion was that the lack of a father living with his mother had at least a small part to play in his state of mind. Needless to say, several people were angry at the mere suggestion that children growing up without fathers might play a role in the anger issues young men face today. Fair enough. No one can say that the mental issues Adam...

The owner of Thai Noodle House in Austin, Texas has been bombarded with criticism after he posted a racially-charged and offensive Facebook status regarding the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. On Friday, a gunman opened fire at the school, killing 20 innocent children and six adults before he took his own life. “I don’t care if a bunch of white kids got killed,” the restaurant’s owner Eddie Nimibutr wrote on his Facebook page shortly after the shooting occurred. “F**k Post-Racial bullsh*t. When kids from minority groups get shot, nobody cares. When Israel launched missiles at...

The US Senate will be voting Tuesday, December 4th on whether to ratify a United Nations treaty on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Beneath the surface of this important sounding effort, is a crafty attempt to bequeath more of our American sovereignty to the authority of the United Nations. America has some of the most stringent protections for those who are disabled. This treaty supposedly makes it a more global effort to support the disabled. Proponents say if the US signs the treaty other nations would be more likely to improve their own efforts with the disabled. But like...

Recently it was banned from a playground in England, the topic of a sex convict’s confession in New Zealand, the subject of a child’s funeral here in the United States and the reason for a 911 call in my own back yard. Can you guess what it is? Hide and Seek. Yes, hide and seek. In our era of parenting, there are two philosophies regarding children’s interactions with the world that have seemingly emerged. Philosophy one views the world as a mostly safe place that we need to allow our children to freely experience and explore, and philosophy two views...

Children and parents across the country are fed up with the restrictive new school meal regulations implemented by the Department of Agriculture under the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010,” which has long been touted by first lady Michelle Obama. The standards — which cap meal calories at 650 for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, at 700 calories for middle school students and 850 for high school students — also dictate the number of breads, proteins, vegetables and fruits children are allowed per meal. A spokeswoman for Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King, who earlier this month introduced legislation to...

First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by a Virginia YMCA yesterday where she met with elementary and middle school kids. The kids had tough questions for the first lady, including the whereabouts of the president of the United States. She did not immediately know. From the pool report: Asked where he was, she said, “he’s at work,” then asked the adults, “Where is Barack Obama?” She was told he’s in Colorado today. When asked by a kid where the Obamas would live if President Obama loses, "The First Lady said they could figure that out later," according to the pool report....

Twitchy reported earlier today that the most vile tweets from Jason Biggs’ Twitter feed had quietly disappeared, and now it seems there might be a very obvious reason why — Nickelodeon has begun tweeting Biggs’ Twitter handle in promotions for its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, for which Biggs provides a voice. LUVERNE, AL --(Ammoland.com)- Mention kids and guns in the same sentence in many public settings and the “enlightened” folks will recoil in horror. Those of us who don’t live in the artificial bubble of New York City or Los Angles understand that introducing young people to the shooting sports is a tradition as old as this nation. Thankfully there are still people in the United States dedicated to providing education and training to the next generation of shooters. On July 15th 2012 I was present for the opening of the Ohio 4H Shooting Education Camp, a weeklong program designed to...

Houston police officer Karl Pederson is all too familiar with the consequences of a curious child coming into contact with a gun. During his 27 years on the force - 15 spent working at Texas Children's Hospital - he's seen too many kids die in gun-related tragedies. "All the children's deaths have stuck with me," the 49-year-old father of two said. "Any time a child loses their life, it's just crushing to me, and I think it can always be prevented." For some, prevention means keeping kids as far away from guns as possible. For Pederson, it means placing a...

This is a fifteen second marathon. Picture Look at this picture. What do you see? Eight children; or is it seven? Can you tell? What are they doing? Well, the four on the right look like they’ve started to race. You can even tell by their body positions that this isn’t going to be a jog; it’s an all-out sprint. The others, meanwhile, look like late-starters. They’re already behind. The boy closest to you, wearing a green shirt, appears to have decided to drop his bike to join the race. Will he be last to finish? Who’s last in this...

By John Boch On Saturday, June 23, three of Guns Save Life’s intrepid members, Chris Betley, John Sutter and Steve Fuller drove to Chicago to participate in the city’s annual gun “turn in” event titled, “Don’t Kill A Dream Save A Life.” In short, the sum real-world value of the guns we took up to the Windy City would have been calculated by most people – ourselves included – solely on their scrap metal value. To the gun-hating do-gooders up there, though, they were worth big dollars; $100 for each firearm and $10 for BB-guns and replicas. No questions asked....

After a Brooklyn principal's controversial ban on "God Bless The USA" from a graduation ceremony in favor of Justin Bieber's song "Baby," several New York Republicans are blasting the decision as anti-American and offensive. Congressman Bob Turner-- who last year replaced disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner-- even staged a bizarre press conference adjacent to Hawkins' Public School No. 90, where he and several elementary school children camped outside on Monday waving American flags and belting out "Proud To Be An American." The press conference, however, took a turn when several hecklers showed up to protest Turner's sing-a-long. Amidst the uncomfortable singing,...

It's no secret that Facebook is lousy with kids ages 12 and under — despite the social network's Terms of Service requiring members to be at least 13. What's more, several studies show that plenty of kids who lie about their age to join, do so with the permission of their parents, and even their help. Now, the Wall Street Journal reports that Facebook is exploring ways to give kids access while being mindful of government regulations and safety concerns: Mechanisms being tested include connecting children's accounts to their parents' and controls that would allow parents to decide whom their...

Last week Glenn Beck discussed the all-encompassing reach of the Nanny State as local officials have been cracking down, not on gang violence or organized crime rings, but on enterprises as innocent as children’s lemonade stands and bake-sales. Whether America’s youth are selling their refreshments for charity, school-funds, or simply for their own mad-money and enjoyment, bureaucrats seem to be hyper-focused on dismantling what was once a cornerstone of the American experience. If it sounds too outrageous to be true, consider the following stories from around the country and listen to Glenn Beck explain why Big Government tactics like this...

A new children’s book is taking some heat for its controversial message aimed at kids, which says that eating vegan is the loving thing to do. The book is called “Vegan is Love: Having Heart and Taking Action,” and its author and illustrator, Ruby Roth – a young, enthusiastic vegan activist – hopes to teach young readers not only about veganism as a diet choice, but also as a moral choice. Roth explains that Vegan is Love expands upon the message of her popular first book “That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals,” in which she describes how our daily diet...

“Best friend bans” — apparently, they’re a thing. Educational psychologist Gaynor Sbuttoni said the policy has been used at schools in Kingston, South West London, and Surrey. She added: “I have noticed that teachers tell children they shouldn’t have a best friend and that everyone should play together. “They are doing it because they want to save the child the pain of splitting up from their best friend. But it is natural for some children to want a best friend. If they break up, they have to feel the pain because they’re learning to deal with it.” Russell Hobby, of...

(CNSNews.com) - John P. Holdren, the top science adviser to President Barack Obama, wrote in a book he co-authored with population control advocates Paul and Anne Ehrlich that children from larger families have lower IQs. The book—"Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions"—argued that the United States government had a “responsibility to halt the growth of the American population.” “It surely is no accident that so many of the most successful individuals are first or only children,” wrote Holdren and the Ehrlichs, “nor that children of large families (particularly with more than four children), whatever their economic status, on the average perform...

Report: Undercover police had kids with activistsBy: The Associated Press | 01/20/12 6:22 PM Britain's Guardian newspaper said Friday that two undercover police officers have fathered children with the activists they were spying on. Key details were hazy but the revelations are the latest in a series of reports which has cast doubt on whether undercover police in the U.K. go too far in seeking to infiltrate environmental, animal rights and extremist groups. British authorities are already preparing a report into the use of undercover officers after one of them caused a trial to collapse when his cover was blown.

President Obama believes that Republican leadership of the country would ruin the United States as a land of opportunity, but he's (justifiably) confident that his daughters will have plenty of opportunities, no matter what. But that’s not our vision of America. I don't want an America where my kids are living behind walls and gates, and can’t feel a part of a country that...
