Maybe it was moot before they found it; but I think it’s all quite relevant now!

Yep, that’s what Einstein said too, before the mafia killed him.
They had to, he “knew too much”.

D’ Mafia had Einstein (AKA OneBeer) rubbed out??

Yes, they wanted to keep it “in the family”.

I may err, but as he was head of his clan or country, instead of calling him Robert Bruce, he was The Bruce. I assume this because the head of the MacDonald Clan was The MacDonald; head of the Campbell Clan was The Campbell, etc.

Seems fair as in the case of Lady Diana,...She lost the “the” when she and “the” dude divorced.
No longer THE Princess of Wales, just plain ‘ol Lady Diana, Princess of Wales.
Oh that Royal protocal is so confusing and meaningless...Though history in itself is quite intriguing.

Oh ya, forgot to add:
Better to lose her “The” instead of her head, as Hank VIII woulda done. OOOOOPs, somehow it all ended quite the same as ‘ol Hank woulda wanted it to, who could imagine that?

Robert 1 of Scotland is known as Robert the Bruce primarily because he is so much the national hero, and he was the only Bruce king.
Edward 1 of England had most of Roberts family killed, and he captured and imprisoned all the rest except for one brother, who had no legitimate children.
When Edward 2 finally freed his remaining family members after 6 (?) years of imprisonment in sometimes extremely harsh conditions, his wife was unable to have more children.
Robert’s only daughter married the son of the High Steward of Scotland, and the crown passed to the Stewart family.
