Most terrorists seem like bumbling losers if they're caught before the act: That's certainly true of the Fort Dix jihadists who took their terrorist training DVD to the local audio store to be copied. It was also true of the Islamists arrested in Toronto last year for plotting to behead the prime minister, one of whose cell members had a bride who wanted him to sign a prenup committing him to jihad. The Heathrow plotters arrested while planning to blow up U.S.-bound airliners included a Muslim convert who'd started out as the son of a British Conservative Party official with a P. G. Wodehouse double-barreled name and a sister who was a Victoria's Secret model and ex-wife of tennis champ Yanick Noah. But then Mohammed Atta and the 9/11 gang would have seemed pretty funny if you'd run into them in that lap-dance club they went to before the big day where the girls remembered them only as very small tippers. Most terrorists are jokes until the bomb goes off.
So, when we're fortunate enough to catch them in advance, it's worth pausing to consider what they tell us about the broader threat we face. According to genius New York Times headline writers, "Religion Guided Three Held In Fort Dix Plot." You don't say. Any religion in particular?

Be damn careful when you talk third party. Ross Perot made his bid and we got Xlinton as a result. Now I hope the Republican wing of the Republican Party will be smart enough to see the importance of immigration as an issue in this election - and repudiate Bush’s open borders policies. Even if they don’t let’s make sure we don’t end up with Hitlery.
If you really care about border issues, why don’t you give the people who are working on solving those problems any credit? Don’t you understand that there is no reward for this thankless work, because people like you say the same thing no matter what they do? It is counterproductive.

I had to show photo ID when purchasing an iPod this week. But ID canot be asked for when voting? And the kabuki theater of airline security is maddening! What's it going to take for CITIZENS of this nation to wake up and banish this PC nonsense?

That's what I thought on Sep 11. But then I read the columns by m. Dowd in the NYT, heard talk show hosts...
The main question that week was, "Why do they hate us?"
When a bomb takes another 100, 1000, 10000 of our lives, the question will be, "Why do they hate us SO much?"
The progressives did exactly the same in the interbellum period (yes, our Wilson, too). It is they who brought Hitler to power and invented the myth about the humilating (for Germans) ending of of WWI. Hitler repeatedly violated treaties; he spoke of war; he built for war; he physically attacked well before starting WWII. Every time that happened the progressives analyzed how Herr Hitler must've FELT and what his feelings were towards England, France and the U.S.

IMHO, the Second American Revolution is coming. Hopefully it will be bloodless. It might happen in November 2008 if we can get a true conservative (read: Fred Thompson :) in the White House and retake both houses of Congress, tossing out a bunch of RINOs (like Pandsey Graham) in the process.
Some say this is a total pipe dream and will never happen. I say, if it doesn't happen, our country is finished. Not at that instant, but in less than 25 years, especially if the RATS are allowed to continue their rampage.

How will it happen? What avenues do American people have for venting their "fury" (if it indeed exists)?
Politicians are virtually unaccountable to the electorate. I cannot see any realistic way the people could take back the country stolen from them.

Steyn shows very clearly that it is not only illegal immigration, but immigration in general that needs to be tighten up. Profiling of all aspiring immigrants with no politically correct drooling by professionals for whom Albanian and other names are not an impenetrable exotic; unashamed preference for people belonging to our civilization; clear rules applied without bows to the liberal public opinion, domestic or international - these are the three whales on which the security and wellbeing could be built.
But alas, it will never happen in society where politicians have stolen sovereignty from the people. And where people's highest value is immediate self-gratification: to feel good and avoid taking any tough decisions, they'll believe (or pretend to believe) any idiotic lie offered by that politicians.

You want to see the fury of the American people? Take away their free "social services". Turn off American Idle. Tell the marketing geniuses they can't sell "Whore-Chic" to pre-teen girls. Tell them they are the ones responsible for their family's welfare and they shouldn't expect the omnipotent government to breast feed them from cradle to grave. Then you will see fury!
Don't for a second think that such a mundane concept as "E Pluribus Unum" is going to matter to a majority of the sheeple as long as their bread and circuses continue to flow uninterrupted. Open borders and multiculturalisms inherent dangers to a civil society are concepts far above the cognitive level of government educated sycophants. No fury will manifest itself as long as "I got mine screw you" hedonism and libertinism reigns in this country. Brother, you can take that to the bank.
I am more than a little pessimistic. The massive destruction of our system of education since 1950s and its replacement with Leftist indoctrination has created many more fools. How can they defend our Constitution and capitalism --- the cornerstones of our political and economic freedoms --- if they do not know what they are?
