FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Gathering of Eagles, an honorable group of Veterans and concerned Patriotic Americans has requested a permit for a rally to be held at the Coast Guard Academy on May 23, 2007, during their graduation ceremony.
This rally is being held to counter the left wing A.N.S.W.E.R. Rally being held on the same day.
The Graduation of some of America's finest citizens from one of our most prestigious academies should not be marred by the vocal outrage of what is a minority in our country.
The GATHERING OF EAGLES requests that all concerned parties make an effort to be at the Coast Guard Academy on May 23, 2007, at 8 AM to rally in support of our men and women who are graduating from this fine institution. It is our specific request that all interested persons attend with signs showing their love of the men and women who serve and to our country that these men and women may have to give their lives in defense of. Signs are welcome that say appropriate slogans to support our Coast Guard personnel and our nation and our President, who will also be in attendance.

But why protest at the Coast Guard Academy, when the Coast Guard’s actions were the ONLY positive out come of Hurricane Katrina.

This entry has me curious. What does ANSWER have against the Coast Guard Academy? What in the world does the Coast Guard do that would cause difficulty for anyone except pirates and drug supported murderers?

Also, someone told me that the MOTHER of one of the cadets protested at HER SON’S own graduation!!
I salute yours and other’s efforts to join up in unity for our armed forces in the days to come. The more patriotic Americans shown in public displays of support can only drive back the efforts of those that would love to see a weak non-effective America.

Sorry it took me so long to ping this thread to CT FReepers (will do so in a few minutes)... we had a pretty bad flood in our basement thanks to the recent nor'easter... it literally happened overnight. We've been a bit busy...
Unfortunately we cannot attend this FReep (nor GOE II in DC). We made plans long ago to fly to Los Angeles, CA to visit my stepson. Rats! I sure wish we could go to both...
