Vanity: The tale of two parties

Posted on 02/13/2007 3:02:27 PM PST by Jim Robinson

We have two major political parties in America. One is pro abortion, pro gay rights, anti first amendment, pro gun control, pro big government, pro big spending, pro illegal immigrant, pro environmentalism, pro United Nations, anti war.

The other is or is quickly becoming pro abortion, pro gay rights, anti first amendment, pro gun control, pro big government, pro big spending, pro illegal immigrant, pro environmentalism, pro United Nations, fading quickly on the war.

Huh?

I guess we're no longer talking about the "lesser of two evils"?

God save our great nation from those who would destroy her. Looks like both parties are doing that now.

It is the lesser of two evils...it's just that the difference is becoming smaller...

Eek, don't scare me now. I will never vote for a man who would try and shut down the first amendment.

Abortion, Sovereignty (Borders), Euthanasia, Hillarycare, Gun-grabbing, Kelo, Big Government and so many more issues are ALL deadly MISSLES aimed at the airplane that is America. WE CITIZENS are the pilot (or even better God is the pilot and we the co-pilot). And we must NEVER let people like Rudy and Mitt hijack us into the national suicide towers of Ba'al and Molech.

It is as I said to you a few times before: you are not leaving the GOP, the GOP is leaving you.

And the solution is as I said a few times before: with a big, sudden move, a whole conservative party shift needs to occur to a third party that uncompromisingly represents conservative values.

That will split the electorate, and it may mean some Democratic victories for awhile, but a real party shift - not just for the Presidential slot, but for Congressional slots - will put the third, conservative party officials in actual office, and able to block legislation, or horsetrade between the parties to get legislation.

And it is as I said to you before, something that cannot be done by individuals at the grassroots by ones and twos. Some individual with a huge following and lots of eyeballs needs to make the shift. FreeRepublic is THE conservative website, par excellence, THE one with the most eyeballs, THE place that brought down Dan Rather, even.

The person who has to do it, then, is YOU. YOU have the platform, here, by which a true American Conservative Party, from coast to coast, could be stood up in short order. FreeRepublic, under your control, gives you the power that nobody else in the conservative movement has - the power to short-circuit all collective action problems, and reach out and grab people who already post here, state-by-state, and draft them for office.

I said before that you should do it, because if not you, who?
And you should do it NOW, because the GOP has not, is not and will not respect conservative values, particularly on the border. They don't now, and they never, ever will.

It's dead, Jim.
Don't stay chained to a corpse.
Use your control of this amazing network, this FreeRepublic, and create an American Conservative Party overnight.

Sad but true. The Republicans are slowly becoming Dems, and the Dems are rapidly becoming Socialists and Greens.
