Jan. 12, 2007— District Attorney Mike Nifong has requested that he have himself removed from prosecuting the Duke Lacrosse rape investigation, ABC News has learned.
Yeah, there's no winning it, because it was all politics. Not surprising.

Someday,someone will have to prosecute Nifong. It would give me great pleasure to watch him in an Orange suit.
He abused his powers to ruin 3 innocent men so he could get himself elected.
I just hope there's some way Nifong can be held responsible for screwing this up so royally. No way should he be allowed to make this kind of mess of other peoples lives and walk away.

The jackass. Crap all over the lives of those students, the law and the duties of your office and look for a quick way out. I tell you, this boy's got a great future in RAT politics.
He's got Clinton/Sharpton disease.
This is very stupid on his part. If this goes to trial, he cannot be prosecuted for misconduct. If it doesnt it could mean jail for him. He probably saw it was going nowhere and is hoping all is forgotten.
I heard he needed just 3 more years as prosecutor to get a nice retirement pension.
His head should be removed. This man is a piece of shiat. He should be disbarred and ridiculed for lies and deceit he has put forth about the LAX players. And then Duke should be shut down for their left wing, knee jerk reaction to all of this.
Also glad their bball team lost two in a row.
Nifong can run but he can't hide.
how in the he## does the prosecutor remove himself from the case? who takes over? and when the next guy drops all charges what happens to Nifong for ruining these kids lives?
Personally I think their choice of 'entertainment' for the evening does not leave them totally blameless for what happened next. But they did not deserve this, and Nifong should be jailed for it.
So, who's lap does this stinkbomb (case) get dropped in? How long will it take for the new presecutor to drop this case?
Will they then hang him after he is off the case?
Nifong's a Clymer...or...Clymer's a Nifong. Either way.
