Possibly New World Indianans who cross the Bering Land Bridge into China to make some more puzzles for archaeologists.

Chinese archaeologists have found a group of huge rings at the site of the 1,300-year-old tomb of Wu Zetian, China's only empress, but they are unable to explain their existence. At least 10 rings appeared on aerial photographs taken by experts from the Xi'an Preservation and Restoration Center of Cultural Relics and Qianling Museum in a survey of Qianling.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
add them up and it's 20. That means they have 10 more left to find at this site...

Petrified crop circles? '-)
Surely some enterprising FReeper will soon come up with some good overhead imagery...

When you said "huge ring", I thought you were talking about Rosie O'Donnell's device...
... but then I remembered that she doesn't need one.

Reminds me of the symbols in south America that can be seen from the air and look like some kind of landing fields.
