Newt Gingrich, the Once and Future "Architect"?
Friday, November 10, 2006 | Momaw Nadon

IMHO, Newt Gingrich won't be elected President, but he is far and away the best choice for the post of top Republican strategist. Whether this is in the RNC or somewhere else, I don't know.

He needs to call the shots in 2008 while maintaining a low public profile. He can be the true "architect" of conservative victory once more. He led us to victory in 1994. He can do so again in 2008.

Gingrich should be to Romney what Rove is to Bush.

I'd vote for him for any office he cared to run for. The man is brilliant.

Newt Gingrich is the only possible Republican nominee for President that can get my vote without the customary nose-holding (other than Gary Johnson, who has announced his intention to run in 2012).

He would be perfect for the RNC. No way for President.

I didn't say Newt should run for President.

He couldn't get elected President.

But, he is the perfect person to engineer Republican victory in 2008.

He needs to distance himself from his work he has done with Hillary on Healthcare before I would even consider him,, anyone lending credence to the Hildebeast and her efforts is more than a wee bit suspect, imo.

Beyond that, who knows what will happen and who will emerge as a real frontrunner.

I am sorry to say that it will not likely be anyone even approaching a solid conservative in both fiscal and social issues.

The recent lackluster results turnout-wise in the election will likely ensure that. I hope I am wrong and will work toward that end personally.

Alot of people underestimate the guy. And I say too, show me a potential 2008 runner that is MORE CONSERVATIVE, more articulate, more experienced and NOT A FREAKIN' LIBERAL.

Newt has his panties in a wad over not leveling with the people about the future of Sec'y Rumsfeld. He is therefore advocating nothing being withheld from reporters when they ask. Since when. Don't want to speculate what he'd advise Romney under similar circumstances.

I'm all for Newt leading the Republicans again. Maybe he can knock some sense into them.

I would as well. He is very sharp. Unfortunately, the baggage might burden his political hopes.

What I'd like to see is his mind working in the background in the RNC. Perhaps to keep the party tuned to the Reagan/contract-with-America mindset. He's a very good leader, and he's a true conservative.

Like Rush said, who doesn't have baggage. If they dont have baggage the msn will make baggage up. I am voting for Newt whether he runs or not. I will write his name down in 08...

I did not agree with it either, for solid political reasons. Bush had the chance to show willingness to change direction...but he chose not too. It would have helped.

I would vote for him too.

But, I don't see him winning as he has bee demonized by the MSM.

What I'm saying is that Newt Gingrich needs to be our new Karl Rove.

What are Romney's set of positions, in detail, on all the Right to Life issues?

Got a link for that?

I don't mind listening to him if he keeps a low profile. He is too "non-used car salesman" to be a front-man.

Well he certainly understands the war on terror and what's at stake.

I'm starting to think the majority populous electorate of 2008 will simply not want to hear the truth that principaled Republicans have to offer. They'll want someone to lie to them - tell them the war on terror is over, everything is back to good ol' Clinton days all fun and games and gas prices low.
It's terrible. People refuse to believe the truth that we're in a long fight for our way of life that's barely begun.

Newt is a guy that would shove it all up the MSM's u-know-what. He is not passive like Bush, et al. Totally different person. It does not matter WHO runs on the Repub ticket in 2008 -- they will be demonized, lied about, maligned, scorned, and belittled by the MSM. Makes no difference at all, it is a given fact. All part of the liberal mob's playbook.
