While all of the news media and radio broadcasters moan and bemoan the possible outcome of the November elections, NO one seems to have spent much time yet discussing the reality of WHO will be the next SENATE MAJORITY LEADER? I personally feel that the Republicans will retain control of the senate and therefore, since Bill Frist is not returning, that brings up a logical question - who will take his place?
I would love to see good remarks and smart analysis on who would qualify to lead the senate as a Republican. My personal favorite is Jon Kyl from Arizona, a constitutional senator, who has sat on the Judicial committee and has a strong sense of leadership without wimping out like Frist has been known to do.
Your comments are welcome...
Doesnt McConnell pretty much have it?
Or Tom Coburn or John Cornyn as long as we are wishing
Senator Kyl here in AZ supposedly is in a "difficult race" this time around. They poured a ton of money into his opposition, he has been one of their major targets. I do think he'll win though, and he would be a good leader.
Cornyn would be good, in that case.
The senator who receives the most votes, I bet.
Santorum! And J.D. Hayworth for Speaker of the House!
Harry Reid?
(I hope not!)
Coburn.
I like Kyl and agree he wuld be a good one.....I
thought the Senate was not the force it should be..
they have RINO's....How many ? I say the two from
Maine, 1 from Rhode Island, 1 from Ohio, and a few
more with their wn agenda...frustrating for their
collegues when they have some of these half-dud
Dems..like Kerry, Kennedy, Boxer, Schumer,Durbin,etc.
who are aginst everything and everybody...geez..how
do some of these people keep getting elected?? Jake
Please God, Tom Coburn. The first time a real Conservative would be running the Senate since the 1920s
I think the charismatic Mitch McConnell believes it is his turn.
Mitch McConnell
We need a passionate, hard nosed Senator that will call the DEMS on their lies on the Senate floor...and someone who will take to task any Senator adding PORK to the spending bills...
Tom Coburn would do that...but he will never get voted in...he isn't well liked by the Senators that have been there a LONG time...and have a good thing going.
I sure hope we don't get someone who "thinks its his turn"...that only leads to pansy politics and ego stroking! We elect them to represent us, not get "their turn in the spotlight"~
Anybody but McCrazy.
I'd like to see McCain lobby for it and then get slapped down WWF style.
yeah, exactly what happened in Specter's case as Chairman of the Judiciary.
