For those interested in Southern MD politics, check out the link. As I am looking at it right now, it does not look good for Republicans. The Dem turnout was strong and our turnout was weak. I hope and pray this does not foretell the November elections.

Wouldn't the facts that the Dems had a contested Senate primary and the the GOP didn't influence the turnout to a tremendous degree? Am I missing something?

I am hoping that is the case. My biggest interest in the primary was voting for County Commissioners.

Do not know what 7D is or means. I am the 7th son of my father, thus the name. Johnny Rivers sung about me! 8-)

Try not to read too much into primary turn-out. If there are no interesting races, nobody is going to show up.

Things are looking good for November. The President in trending in the right direction, and as they are beginning to look closely, people are seeing that the Democrats have no reasonable position on National Security, just as I predicted they would.

Your district may be atypical because of the recent Yuppie invasion. Sorry about that. But nationwide, things are looking good.

It looks like the turnout was pretty even up here in Cecil. I do suspect it was because of the uncontested Senate race though that more Republicans didn't vote. Also, the newspaper has made reference several times to the fact that we have more registered Democrats than Republicans but the general election results in the past five years would imply the opposite.

In NH CD1 currently represented by Jeb Bradley (R), the Dem primary was won in a landslide upset by an antiwar moonbat.

This is actually quite good news, because the Party organization candidate had a chance, while the moonbat has none.

I'm concerned too. Here in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, last November's election went overwhelmingly to the dems. And as you mentioned, low Republican turnout.

yeah, but there's only 28 people and some muskrats over there........

part of the reason for the low repub turnout was probably because there was no presidential concern

Lizzie Dole in 08.....

The turnout in MD for the primary election would likely be higher for the RAT party since they had a competitive race. Steele had the GOP nomination in the bag.

precisely. I was a campaign manager for a Republican candidate in Tuesday's elections up in Carroll County (west of Baltimore), that has voted Republican in every election since at least the 1960's, and Republican turnout was relatively good, but Democrat turnout was very strong because they had the Senate race that was a real race. The Republican candidate (Steele) won about 85% of his vote, so most Republican voters only turned out to vote on local races. The Democrats, however, only turned out to vote on the national races.
