A passenger tried to open the exit door of a United Airlines plane while it was flying from Los Angeles to the Washington, D.C, area on Tuesday night, airline and Transportation Security Administration officials said.
United Flight 890 landed as scheduled at Washington Dulles International Airport at 8:35 p.m., said TSA spokeswoman Amy Kudwa. No one was injured.
The passenger became unruly about 3 1/2 hours into the flight and was subdued by other passengers and federal air marshals, said United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy.
"After the passenger was restrained, the pilot decided to land at Dulles," McCarthy said. "It wasn't an emergency landing."
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police and FBI agents met the flight, said FBI spokeswoman Debbie Wierman.
There were 138 passengers and six crew on board, McCarthy said.
Heh...good luck with that pressurized cabin there, buddy.

Post 9-11, I can't think of a easier way to get your ass kicked than to start a commotion on a plane. Lord help the poor SOB that actually tries to hijack plane.
True enough that the emergency exits open inward, but the main door opens OUT!
That would be a good way to down an airliner. Open the main door, let the airstream rip it off and then it smacks the wing/engine/tailplane.
If terrorists are testing our response, good to see that passengers are no longer sheep.
