Some news article I read this morning about this guy said he's been unable to get a teaching job in the US since 2002. Sounded like he's been barred from teaching. Bet he has some "incidents" at the schools he taught at.

In my opinion, it is just another attempt to blame the parents. The kid could have been dressed in burka and this sick pervert would have still wanted her.

My daughter followed the case, and when I spoke to her on the phone today, her first response was "Thailand?"

Good God, this is getting to be the Free Republic version of "Niagara Falls . . . ."

Why do you want the parents to be guilty? It seems you are jumping through hoops in order to find some way for this to be so...look this guy happened upon this child in some way. He got into the house. The Ramseys did not have the alarm on at all times. He waited and he grabbed the kid. The DNA found on this kid matches his according to reports this morning. We have a recent case where the family was murdered so the sick beast could get the kids...he killed the boy and the girl was rescued. These guys are becoming more agressive in targeting kids.

I think they said he lost his teaching credentials in 2001. Probably because of the child porn charges.

I thought he was, too, but it looks like he's in Thailand as of now. Doesn't mean they haven't run DNA tests.

Worst crime investigation and media lynching I've ever witnessed

IIRC, the Boulder police had about one homicide every 10 years or so to investigate so they didn't have much experience. However, the Denver Police offered their assistance and the snooty Boulder cops turned them down.

No, they should be fired and put on trial for being totally incompetent.

Unfortunately, we have way too many policeman and other LEO that are also not competent.

The reluctance to use DNA testing to free persons who claim to be innocent is just one aspect of a society that does not want to admit that its law enforcement and judicial system is tainted.

Have you ever been a grieving parent? Until you have been I doubt if you will ever know "how grieving parents act". They don't have a script and they don't all act the same.

I will feel better when we get more details in this case...Big issue to resolve is placing him in Boulder at that time. The ex-wife and other family members/friends seem pretty confident that he was in Alabama at the time. How can they remember back then? This was a big story back in those days - it would seem that you would remember everyone that was with you during that time - especially when they are getting charged with such a crime. It's the alibi situation that needs to get resolved. DNA? Just speculation of course - since this happened 10 years ago...there is some motivation for the Boulder police and Ramsey's to get this case off the books...

Like I said - I will feel a whole lot better when the alibi situation is resolved, and that they can prove his whereabouts during this time...

"Developing Story: JonBenet Ramsey Murder Suspect Has Ties to Shoals"

August 14, 2006

Startling developments in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case.

According to our news partners The TimesDaily, the suspect in Ramsey's murder has ties to the Shoals.

The newspaper reports 41-year-old John Mark Karr attended the University of North Alabama in Florence in 1999 and 2000.

During January of 2000, Karr taught at UNA's Kilby Laboratory School.

But, after a month, he was reportedly let go because of concerns about the way he allegedly interacted with elementary students, especially girls.

Karr was also a substitute teacher for about a year in Franklin County, and a former principal says he was a good substitute, but a little over friendly.

Karr was arrested in Thailand. Ramsey's body was found in her basement in Boulder, Colorado almost ten years ago.

I regret to say that I fell into the category of people who thought the young Ramsey son, Burke, had accidentally killed his sister. And that the parents were not cooperating, in an effort to shield their son.

I have learned a valuable lesson. I am going to try in the future to keep my mouth shut! And let the law do the investigations.

If the wife lied for him at the time of the murder. She sure doesn't want to admit it now. She faces charges.

I think it's going to be easy in the end.

We'll find that he was flown in as a babysitter and staying at someone's home or a lodge or whatever.

Since it would be paid by someone else, his name doesn't show.

As far as his relatives and what they remember. PROVE IT!! It was a long time before the cops got to them. Christmas' are pretty much the same. He would have talked about it at the time along with everyone else. THAT'S what they should remember and I'm not hearing that.

1) I have seen up close and personal how grieving parents act. So don't even try to patronize me.

2) If you know of any set of parents besides the Ramseys that would first contact their lawyer upon discovering their child is dead, please inform.

I don't think his relatives even had an inkling that it might be him....nor did the police WAY BACK THEN...so they have an obscure "memory" to prove.
