"Shatz should get the Noam Chomsky Award for the self-hating Jewish anti-Israeli rant of the day."

"This clown Adam Shatz is Jewish. That's the sad part."

"Oven Jews" like Adam Shatz are beyond contempt. I despise them more than the Islamofascists.

This author won't let Israel off the hook but turns a deaf ear to the suffering and murder perpetrated by terrorists like Hezbollah. Nice objective article! (sarc)

Why doesn't Hezbollah call an end to hostilities if it's all so terrible? If Hezbollah waled away today, the Israelis wouldn't take over Lebanon, they'd go home to their families. Even the fogged out left knows this, so they shout and wave their arms to distract us.

In Lebanon and throughout the wider Arab and Muslim world, however, the village's name has for the last decade been synonymous with something else: the killing in April 1996 of more than 100 men, women and children who had taken refuge in a U.N. compound, hiding from Israeli shelling directed at Hezbollah. Over time, Qana has been sculpted by Hezbollah into a symbol of martyrdom, a Shiite version of Sabra and Shatila.

And what better place to stage a 'massacre'?

Believe it or not a sister in law of Chomsky was on a local talk show.  She was a hopeless peacenik which Noam Chomsky is not

If he's going to throw this in as "A FACT", tells you a whole lot about the rest of the 'story'. Plus as Rush says, people like this are LIBERALS FIRST, Jewish second

Shatz - "Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that Israel did, in fact, make the same mistake twice in Qana — or, to take another recent example, in Gaza, where a family of eight spending an afternoon on the beach was killed by an errant Israeli shell in June."

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/06/13/mideast.probe/

CNN - The explosion on a Gaza beach that killed seven people last Friday was caused by explosives planted there by Palestinian militants, not artillery fire from an Israeli navy gunboat, Israeli military sources said Tuesday.

An Israeli commando unit used the beach to enter Gaza for a mission in recent weeks, prompting the militants to place the mines, the sources said.

Intelligence information gathered by Israeli investigators showed that Hamas quickly removed the remaining mines from the beach after the blast, the sources said.

An estimated 750 Lebanese, overwhelmingly civilians and many of them children, have died, a dozen times more than the 50-plus Israelis (more than half of them soldiers) killed by Hezbollah.

Hezbullah has the option of not firing from residential areas or surrendering.
In a war you can't complain that one side killed too many on the other side, it's war. Where was this guy when suicide bombers were killing women and children? Did he complain that Israel didn't kill enough of the bad guys?
The ironic part is that the terrorists would kill this guy without batting an eye simply because he is a Jew, if he survived a terrorist attack he'd probably die of guilt

How about the fact that news reports today are saying that it is now believed that Hezbollah held the children there, launched a missle to Israel knowing there would be retaliation, to do an ugly PR job on Israel.

Hezbollah has alway been masterful at turning the tables on their enemies in the PR arena.

Just once, let's hear the the UN condemn Hezbollah or any other mass murdering group for purposely killing Israeli children at school, in buses, at home in their beds, at restaurants, at play? I don't buy it. Remember the big fake job the Palestinians pulled in Jenin 4 years ago. They claimed they had suffered a massacre - same words as now - turned out to be vastly exaggerated and the media with any integrity quietly admitted they backed a lie.

"Yes, dumbasss. Israel is deliberately targeting terrorists"

Plus, does Hezbollah drop leaflets or notify the villages in Israel that they are going to be bombed or targeted?

Bias is as bias does.

Is Israel's "accidental" violence against civilians somehow better, or more morally acceptable, than that of a Hamas suicide bomber who steps into a pizzeria seeking to kill civilians? Or a Hezbollah guerrilla firing a Katyusha in the direction of a Haifa residential neighborhood? In short, do Israel's declared intentions make a difference?

ummmm.. yes it is more acceptable. Its the difference btw accident and deliberate. If I punch you in the face on purpose is that worse than your 2 year old accidentally hitting your nose? this guy is an idiot. If you want to end civilian casualties try to resist using them as shields.

Terrorists launch missiles at Israel intending to kill as many civilians as possible, and writers like this act like it is a natural thing, like the tide going in and out. Nothing to say about it, ho hum, that's just the way things are.

Israel responds with restraint, responding to an unprovoked attack, and inevitably there are some civilian casualties - this is war buddy, stuff happens - and suddenly "no apology is good enough."

Yes, this is assymetrical warfare, all right. It is assymetrical because the media and fools like this guy make it so. Give the terrorists a complete pass, and act as if Israel has to follow the laws as if it were a private citizen in the US. It's completely ridiculous. This author is a moron. The US faces the exact same problem when the terrorists attack it - we must be "so careful" not to hurt a single innocent fly overseas, whereas the terrorists not only have no such limitations, they don't even get criticized in the media. I just read stuff like this and can't believe it.
