SACRAMENTO State intelligence reports released Thursday by the Schwarzenegger administration include material suggesting that the governor's anti-terrorism operation was interested in the actions of the Minuteman volunteer border patrol group.
The reports also include a cryptic reference to "suspicious conversations at a mosque" in San Diego.
TState officials released more than 80 intelligence reports prepared for the state Office of Homeland Security, in response to The Times' disclosure that two reports carried information about domestic political protests ranging from antiwar gatherings to protect-the-seals rallies.
Large sections of the reports shown to reporters had been removed. The homeland security office said the blocked material was "law-enforcement sensitive."
Time for reviewing the documents was limited, but the material visible to reporters contained no other information on political protests.
One report, dated Feb. 23, carried two references to a Los Angeles Times article about the Minuteman Project on a cover sheet, with a reprint of the article inside. It detailed the Minuteman attempt to take part in a Patriots Day parade in Laguna Beach.
After the mention of the Minuteman Project, members of a state anti-terrorism partnership apparently wrote in comments. Those remarks were removed from the report that was made public.

The Minuteman Project is a patriotic organization and the state of California Office of Homeland Security considers it a terrorist organization? The governor praised the work of the Minutemen in numerous radio shows last year.
It seems that the LA Times is involved too

He wrote that "OHS analysts have been tasked by OHS management to collect information on the Minutemen, a political organization advocating for immigration reform and tighter border control,"
They are collecting information. That is so wrong.

Is anyone going to comment about this injustice committed by the state?

Ah, yes! The terrorist organization helping the United States Border Patrol perform its job. And doing it for free!
Sometimes you have to wonder why we let these buffoons lead us. They're completely incompetent.

I have complete faith in the Minutemen and Jim Gilchrist. They are doing the job the federal government refuses to do.

It's difficult to tell from this poorly written article if the CA DHS is trying to learn something from the MM or if they think they're up to no good.

I think that the CA DHS think that they are up to no good. Its a political witch hunt the CA DHS is conducting.

This is from the article:
"It's very troubling that the Office of Homeland Security apparently has been tracking this information on protesters and demonstrators exercising their 1st Amendment rights
Are they(meaning the state of California) tracking organizations and people who possibly disagree with the politically?

Sounds to me like this newspaper is trying to whip up some hysteria.
They're about one inch away from "Bushitler is crushing dissent! Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!"
I'd be upset if the CA DHS wasn't monitoring some of these nutbags.

No ,their not nut bags. The MMP is a fantastic organization taking the steps the federal government refuses to do. The government is just trying to smear them like they do with people or organizations who buck the system.

The article is thin on facts.
The CA DHS monitoring the Minutemen can be constured a lot of ways. Let me throw on on the pile that may be close to the truth.
Organizations change, evolve. Many times factions split off, those factions being more extreme that the original organization. The Minutemen have already had some pretty extreme types show up at the door looking to "help" and they have done an excellent job keeping the extreme elementts out.
If CA DHSis monitoring the MM, it should to look for signs of factions breaking off or infiltration by the more extreme types. IMHO, That would be prudent. Monitoring them otherwise would not.
