OK folks, I got this in freepmail from CaPagrl. Time to pray:
Mr. Silverback,
I was wondering if you would mind pinging your prayer list for me today. I just found out a few minutes ago that there is a bed available for me in the Labor & Delivery unit and I will (God-willing) be delivering my new son today. However, this pregnancy has been filled with complications and I've had to switch doctors late in the game (literally yesterday) in addition to switching hospitals - instead of our local hospital, we'll be traveling an hour away to a major medical center.
My son is measuring rather large and my local OB refused to let me attempt a natural childbirth because of that fear. Two weeks ago, an ultrasound showed Logan (the baby) measuring 9 lbs., 1 oz. - and I was only 36.4 weeks along! Last Monday, the same technician meausured Logan at 10 lbs. 5 oz. (gulp!). My OB refused to induce me because he wouldn't even consider natural vs. a c-section. I refused a c-section because I have absolute faith that my body was designed for this and that my body would not grow a child too large for me to birth (this is, by the way, my 3rd pregnancy). Anyway, we went to the medical center yesterday and met with a new OB who ordered an ultrasound - this time, Logan measured at 9 lbs., 10 oz. meaning they would let me try a natural birth!!
So, I am thrilled and also terrified - my original OB has told me so many horror stories in his attempt to justify a c-section as the only option that I've been having nightmares all week.
Please ask your list to send positive labor vibes and strong prayers for Logan's health as well as mine.
I will certainly update you as soon as this is over and let you know how we made out (hopefully with pics as well!).
I really and truly appreciate it,
CaPagrl
Prayers. A c-section isn't the end of the world. All that matters is a healthy baby and mom. =)
Godspeed! Babies are blessings from God -- a kind of prayer of their own.
>>A c-section isn't the end of the world. <<
I agree. I had one natural (28 hours of induced labor)and one C-section.
I'd take the section anytime!

Prayers for all concerned.....
Prayers up.
Prayerful regards to you, Logan and all of your family.
Prayers to mom and baby.....
Good luck. Take the epidural and the C-section (skip the episotomy). Of course you'll want the eppi earlier for each subsequent child. By the time we wanted a third kid, the ex wife wanted it at conception. ;-)
Well, next time maybe you should do a little research.
Love that whole ad series. Just hilarious.
May G-d bless you and your family--may he put his hands on this child and deliver him to you!
LOL
MY wife delivered our 10lbs 3oz son naturally. No complications.
Prayers up.
That's what my wife said after having our 10lb even son in Feb of '02. Now he's the size of a small 7 yr old and he's only 4.
May God bless you and yours..sw
Prayer to St. Anthony for the Health of an Expectant Mother & Unborn Child.
Glorious St. Anthony, you were blessed to hold the Infant Jesus in your arms.
I come to you now on behalf of CaPagrl who pleads for the health and safety of the child that God has graced her to conceive.
St. Anthony, guard this life God has created, and the mother God has chosen for this child. Let your gentle hand, like that of a skilled physician, aid in her delivery so that this baby will know good health and lasting happiness.
May her child be favored with the grace of holy baptism, and grow to love our Lord Jesus Christ above all else in this world.
Amen.
