Update from Vanity Post/ Prayer Request from last week concerning Clint Still

I wanted to update all of you on Clint's condition. His mother and I appreciate all of your prayers, however it is not looking good. His mom just got back from the hospital and the doctors are preparing her for the worst. Clint is not responding to the antibiotic being used to treat his staph infection. On Friday there was a glimmer of hope, his fever had broken. He is on the ventilator and it is doing all of his breathing for him. Freepers please pray hard for him, Clint is only 14 years old, and he has been in the hospital battling pneumonia. Please continue to pray for him and his mother! She is very frightened, and so am I.

Many of you offered prayers for Clint and Sydney since I first posted his story last week. Please continue to pray for them! I was hoping I could give ya'll a happy update, but that is just not the case. His pneumonia seems to be clearing up, but the doctors have said he has been on the ventilator too long and the fact the antibiotics are not working on the staph infection has the doctors worried.

MissEdie, how did Clint end up this way? Did he have a pre-existing condition?

Thanks for the thread to my original post! Clint has CP, but he had been happy and healthy. He went to a camp while his mother went to visit her sick sister and while he was there he got sick and developed pneumonia. He has been in the hospital for going on three weeks. At one time the doctors thought his pneumonia had cleared completely, and the next day he developed a fever again. The doctors did tests that showed that in fact all the pneumonia was not gone and that he had subsequently developed a staph infection. His mother is beside herself. This child is the only reason she gets up in the morning and I am worried about how she is going to cope if God forbid Clint does not get any better.

Smite this disease that has overcome this boy. Bless and inspire those charged with his care. Mercy Lord, mercy. I pray now and always in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - Amen.

Cerebral palsy, and thank you for your prayers. His mom just went to the hospital to stay at his bedside through the duration, come what may. I'm continuing to pray for a miracle.

Unto You, O Lord, we return with thanksgiving that we can continue before the Throne of Grace for Sydney's beloved son. Look with mercy upon this mother's heart, O God ... we cry out that Clint would remain with her for years to come. Breathe on him Your very breath, Merciful Father, that he would be sustained ... cleanse every part of his body, that he would be free from infection. Raise him up, O Lord, that others might see and believe.

We praise You that You are the Great Physician ... may Your healing hand rest mightily upon Clint in his hour of need, to the everlasting Glory and Honor of Your Name. Amen ...
